My work co-creating creams, balms and butters with the natural world is inspired by a direct understanding of the healing quality of beauty in nature. Each of the products is created and made with natural ingredients and heartfelt intention.

My vision is that each of the Swan Botanicals products infuse each person’s life with a bit of natural beauty, calling forth their own beauty in that process, and thus providing nourishment for the skin AND heart.

I have always had this drive to co-create beauty with the natural world. This has taken many different shapes over the years, but definitely started when I was a child growing up on a pond in Maine.

Balsam Balm really reminds me of Maine. It has four simple ingredients, and three of those are sourced right here in Maine: organic leaf lard from Misty Brook Farm, Beeswax from Maya’s Apiary, and Balsam Fir Tips from Meadow Mountain Gardens.

So many love this product and keep it on hand year round for all sorts of uses: dry skin, rashes, bumps, bruises, cuts and scrapes. I also use it on my dry gardening hands, and dry winter woodstove hands. It is really a balm for all seasons. I am so grateful to the farmers, plants and animals of the fields, woods and waters of Maine.

The new labels are in, and I love them. The new 2oz jars are just magic too. Thanks again to my friend Elizabeth for helping make this happen. A business like this has so many roots in community. I am so grateful.

Yes, you heard right. We are making some more of our beloved Balsam Balm, which is made from four simple ingredients. One of those ingredients is organic leaf lard. We source the leaf lard from Misty Brook Farm, which is a certified organic family farm here in Maine.

This is such a great balm to have on hand all times of year. It is our go-to for all cuts, scrapes, and bumps. It has such a subtle, and beautiful smell from the balsam fir tips that are infused in olive oil. Have you tried it yet?

Our small business has undergone a big change! We’ve changed our name to Swan Botanicals. Though everything is still being handcrafted in small batches at Meadow Mountain Gardens, our new name more accurately reflects the herbal skin care products we are making. Our gardens are still lovingly called Meadow Mountain Gardens, and anything along the lines of gardening will appear under that name.
