What a blessing to be back in the house of the Lord! I’ve been out of church for 6 weeks dealing with a kidney stone. A week ago, I had lithotripsy to break up the stone.

Thank you to my church family for all the calls, the prayers, and the meals. And I truly thank you for all the big hugs today.

Word of Oasis, we love you all beyond measure. 💕

Sewing + Personal Style + A Love for Fashion = It Just Makes Sense! 💕

I’m excited to announce that I’m officially a Fashion Nova Ambassador! 🎉

From creating fashion behind the sewing machine to styling pieces that make me look and feel good, fashion has always been a form of self-expression for me.

Fun Fact: I attended Barbizon Modeling School in Los Angeles as a teenager! Such great memories. Who knew all these years later I’d be stepping into this space in a whole new way?

Sometimes you have to pause and take a quick inventory of how God has come through for you.

I survived becoming a teen mom on welfare. I rode a Greyhound bus ALONE from Meridian, Mississippi to Los Angeles, California at 16 years old in search of a better life for me and my baby. I served 20 years in the military and retired at 39. I taught myself to sew, then built a business around something I love—creating multiple streams of income along the way. I’ve been with my husband almost 29 years—together we have built an impressive legacy for our daughters and future grandchildren.

I’m sharing this as a reminder to myself and to another woman who may need to hear it: your story carries strength. The things you’ve made it through can become part of what encourages someone else to keep going.

I’m proud of the woman I’ve become, and I’m still showing up—with faith, confidence, and purpose.

To every woman like me who keeps showing up: keep going, Sis. You can do ALL THINGS! You need a cheerleader? Come here.

And to my big brother Kobely, you’re right, I deserve to pop my stuff! I shattered the odds! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
