Not a perfect pagan — a poem :

I’m not a perfect pagan
And that’s okay
I don’t remember to light my candles everyday
I forget to veil
I rarely wear my oath ring, it’s iron and the faeries don’t like that kind of thing.

Sometimes I lose interest in the moon
Sometimes I would rather take a nap
Sometimes I’d rather shower quickly
than take a long ritual bath
Sometimes my offerings are screaming out my love
after a day full of biting my tongue
Sometimes I wonder if I am enough
I question magic on the days when darkness comes
And the going gets rough
But feel it coursing through me when I find my inner might
Radiating through my soul with Freya’s golden light

I don’t get to the water like I should
And it’s a shame
with so much water in my Astro chart
It cleanses my soul of the mud and the muck
Recharges my spirit when I’ve been feeling stagnant and stuck

My favorite things are
Getting lost in the trees
Hearing ancestors in the breeze
Feeling the presence of a goddess
That brings me to my knees
Harmonizing my energy with the bees

I’m not a perfect pagan
And that’s okay
Because neither are the gods
And they love me anyway.
