Bettering.Nature We live in a world that has an answer for everything, and almost no room to ask why. What could you discover beneath the surface?🌿

My passion is to create space for curiosity—where questioning the answers leads to something that's actually yours. 🌿 Integrative Health & Wellbeing Coach | Helping people reconnect with what sustains them 🌿

As an Integrative Health & Wellbeing Coach, I work with people who've lost connection with themselves while meeting everyone's demands. I help them improve their health and wellbeing—through better nourishment, stress management, sustainable relationships, and work-life integration—by reconnecting with what truly sustains them. If you're high-functioning but feel scattered and disconnected despite doing "all the right things," if you're tired of prescriptive wellness advice that doesn't fit your life, or if you want to discover your own path to health and wellbeing rather than follow someone else's - this work might resonate with you. My background blends analytical systems thinking (years as an IT business analyst) with holistic health training (Master's in Integrative Health & Wellbeing Coaching from University of Minnesota). This combination helps me work with people who think deeply about their health and wellbeing but feel stuck in patterns they can't quite see. I offer individual coaching, group programs, workshops, and share regular insights through my blog and newsletter "Practically Well" exploring accessible ways to improve health and wellbeing. When I'm not working with people, I practice what I guide others toward - staying connected to what nourishes me. You'll often find me outdoors tending my gardens or moving through nature (walking, running, skiing), and feeding my spirit through good food and music. This isn't just about self-care - it's about staying grounded in what sustains me, which informs how I help others reconnect with what sustains them. Becoming Ecowell is about finding your answers to the questions: 🌱 What do you actually need?
🌱 What do you truly value?
🌱 What kind of world do you want to live in?

We can explore these answers together. Reach out and stay in touch. There is more to come!

04/08/2026

Over the past several weeks, we have explored the 6 foundational aspects of the EcoWell way of living. Whether it is through our view of nourishment, movement, connection, surroundings, consumption or mindset, we all have the opportunity to choose the ways in which we become EcoWell.
To guide your journey, we asked you:
🌱What genuinely feeds you in all aspects of your life — body, mind, and spirit? And what does it ask of the earth? (Nourishment)

🌱How could you turn a movement that feels like a “should” into an opportunity? (Movement)

🌱Which threads of connection could you strengthen to support your well-being? (Connection)

🌱How does the outside world show up within the walls of your inside spaces? (Surroundings)

🌱What is the story behind the items you purchase? (Consumption)

🌱What is your lens focused on? (Mindset)

When we nurture our own nature in ways that honor our relationship with the environment, the benefits have the potential to spread exponentially.

It is never too late to start your EcoWell journey. It begins when you think deeply about any of these questions, and start to live according to your answers.

Have you ever caught yourself doing something you never would've predicted — and wondered where the person who swore she'd never do that actually went?

I've been thinking about the labels we carry around about ourselves — "I'm not a truck person," "I'd never move to the suburbs," "that's not who I am" — and what happens when life quietly proves them wrong, one small choice at a time.

My latest post is about that strange moment of catching yourself mid-life, mid-something, and asking: who am I now? And what I found when I actually sat with the answer.

🌿 I've been thinking about why someone else changing a rule they've followed for years can feel almost personal to the people watching — even when it was never really about them.

Maybe it's this: if their rule was ever a quiet mirror for our own, watching them set it down asks a question we didn't sign up for — is mine still worth keeping too?

If you haven't read my latest blog reflection, you can find it here: https://wix.to/yPTWA1Z

🌿 For years I quietly measured myself against someone else's discipline — convinced her rigidity was the standard, and my own looser approach just meant I hadn't fully committed.

Then a health crisis forced her to abandon the very rules she'd built her identity on. And it made me ask a harder question: how many of our own rules have outlived the reason we built them in the first place?

This one's not really about diet. It's about the moment a rule stops serving its purpose — and how rarely we stop to check. Read more: https://wix.to/0xh7qWh

On a weekend when we're meant to reflect on what this country aspires to be — it seems like a good moment to ask a quieter question closer to home.

What are you aspiring toward? Or have you, like most of us, gotten comfortable with what's simply become familiar?

I've been catching myself this week. Noticing the moments where I extend a quiet pass to something — a choice, a behavior, a pattern — simply because it stopped surprising me. Sometimes it's not even about what's familiar now. It's about leaning into what once felt normal, back when it carried a certain security or comfort.

When we're willing to sit with that honestly — to learn from what's passed rather than just reach back for it — we sometimes discover that the normal we're protecting no longer serves who we're becoming.

That's the thing about normal. It doesn't announce itself. And once it settles, curiosity rarely gets a chance.

When was the last time you questioned something you'd simply stopped noticing? I wrote about this recently — sharing my thoughts about the meanings and mismeanings of this word. If you missed it, you'll find it here: https://wix.to/LfTAfpw

We throw the word "normal" around constantly — but have you ever stopped to ask what it's actually measuring?

Not what it should be measuring. What it is measuring.

Because there's a version of normal that points toward what actually supports us. And there's a version that's just the quiet accumulation of what we've stopped questioning.

Those two things can look identical from the outside. And that's where it gets costly.

My latest post explores what normal is really doing — and what it quietly costs when we stop asking. Read it here: https://wix.to/wfn89no

I've been criticized for asking too many questions. Apparently it reads as setting up for an attack.

I'm still sitting with that one.

Have you ever had your curiosity mistaken for something else — confrontation, judgment, nosiness? What did you do with that?

I've been thinking about curiosity as a muscle. Not just a personality trait some people have and others don't — but something that actually atrophies when we stop using it.

When was the last time you changed your mind about something because of a conversation? Not because you were argued into it, but because someone's experience genuinely opened something in you?

That's the muscle. And it's worth exercising.

When was the last time someone surprised you with a question instead of an answer?

We live in a world increasingly comfortable with certainty — and increasingly impatient with "I don't know." Somewhere in all of that noise, we've quietly lost something. Not just in how we talk to each other, but in how we listen. Or don't.

My latest post is about the pause that changes everything — and why "tell me more" might be the most courageous thing any of us can offer right now. https://wix.to/86W2MsV
