That's a WRAP on the MSC Teacher Training in North Carolina!

Okay a bit late on this, but still feeling oh so grateful to the 35 souls who completed this training and are committed to sharing MSC in the world 🙏

And to this incredible teaching team, who I was in awe of teaching with. Kristin Neff once stated that she will only teach alongside some who, when she thinks of teaching with them, it makes her smile. I am still smiling...and laughing. Swipe to last pic 😂

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)

8-weeks | Online | Thursdays 5-7:30 pm PT | Starts Jan 16th!

Come join Megan and UCSD Center for Mindfulness in this empirically-supported 8-week psycho-educational group intervention that teaches mindfulness meditation as a health intervention. Created by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn in 1979. MBSR offers participants the possibility to develop a different relationship to stress resulting from chronic physical and psychological illnesses. Research outcomes have demonstrated positive improvements in physical and psychological symptoms, as well as changes in health attitudes and behaviors.

The course schedule consists of eight weekly classes and one daylong class on a weekend. This highly participatory, practical course includes:

Guided instruction in mindfulness meditation practices
Gentle stretching and mindful yoga
Inquiry exercises to enhance awareness in everyday life
Individually tailored instruction
Group dialogue
Daily home assignments
Guided audio files for home practice and a workbook

The course is challenging and life-affirming. The instructors are accomplished and skilled at creating a safe, supportive, and deeply engaging learning environment that allows participants to seek, explore, and inquire.

Rather than keep mentally rehashing a conversation that went sideways, or spending so much energy figuring out yet another way to explain myself, I am making this choice. And it feels like I just took a heavy backpack off. It feels gooooodd.

You can take others misconceptions about you off, too 🔥✨

We all need healthy, well-connected relationships to survive and thrive. As important as our relationships are, they are not always easy!

Compassion for Couples (CfC) is an 8-week, practice-based program designed to help us meet ourselves and our partner with greater self-awareness and compassion. CfC builds on the skills developed in the Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) program and moves deeper into compassion between partners. Utilizing the skills of mindfulness and compassion; this program teaches how to build a strong and healthy foundation for relationships, and provides concrete skills to help navigate difficulties that arise within us and between us. Compassion can help us hold ourselves and others with kindness, even in the midst of difficulty. And that creates the resilience we need for our relationship to thrive. While prior experience with MSC is helpful, it is not required.

Next course: Sundays, 1:00-3:00 pm EST | Online | January 12-March 9, 2024 | Facilitators: Megan Prager, MA & Sara Marlowe, MSW, RSW
