In Brazil, researchers gave 2,002 adults between 51 and 80 a simple test: sit on the floor, then stand back up — no hands, no knees. Over about six years, the people who scored the lowest were more than five times more likely to die than the ones who nailed it. And every single point they gained meant twenty-one percent better survival. Balance. Flexibility. Strength. All in one move.
