Over the summer, I hit a wall of burnout that was so deep, I felt like I’d never climb out. Simple tasks at work had me staring at my computer, frozen in overwhelm. I was highly irritable and easy to tear up. I couldn’t even navigate my own emotions, let alone share space with others, leading me to isolate from almost everyone. The previous year and a half of immense stress had finally caught up to me.
While sitting at what felt like rock bottom, I remembered all of the tools I have gathered over the years and started to incorporate daily routines and rituals that nourished me and refilled my cup. Morning meditations and breath work, wrapping myself in comforting fabrics, herbal preparations to mend my frazzled nerves, cozy teas that made me feel safe at home, and making tea time a ritual with this stunning work of art.
I’m finally starting to feel the clouds part and the sun come out. It feels good to remember that I am a child of the earth, and she gives us beautiful medicine to support us when the unnatural world pulls us away from ourselves.
I’ve also resumed my herbal medicine studies and am on my way to be a Registered Herbalist. I need clinical hours, so shoot me a DM if you’d like to work with me on some herbal protocols!
