Mount Carmel MediGold With some Medicare Advantage plans, it’s you and your doctor on one side … and your insurance on the other. Nothing gets in the way.

Mount Carmel MediGold (HMO/PPO) is a different kind of Medicare Advantage plan, where your doctors and your Medicare insurance work together to provide you the best care possible. Mount Carmel MediGold Health Plan (HMO/PPO) is different. It was built by doctors who believe coverage and care work better together. That means your doctors work hand in hand to provide you with the best care possible.

Is your Medicare coverage still the right fit for 2027?

As your health needs change, it's a good idea to review your coverage each year and make sure it still works for you.

Here are a few questions to ask yourself during the Annual Enrollment Period:
💊 Are my prescriptions still covered?
🩺 Can I continue seeing the doctors I trust?
💙 Does my plan include the benefits I use most?
💵 Will it fit my health care budget for next year?

Taking a few minutes to review your coverage now can help you feel more confident about your Medicare plan for 2027.

Information about your 2027 coverage is available on our website, including your Evidence of Coverage (EOC), Formulary and Provider Directory, making it easy to confirm your benefits, medications and providers for the coming year.

Medicare's Annual Enrollment Period ends December 7. If your health care needs have changed, our Member Services team can help you review your current coverage and discuss other Mount Carmel MediGold plan options that may be a better fit. Call 800-964-4525 (TTY: 711), 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week.

This is the last post in our October series on cancer awareness. We’ve covered family history, screenings and paying attention to changes in your body. Let’s end with the everyday choices that can make a difference.

The American Cancer Society estimates that about 40% of cancer cases in the U.S. are linked to risk factors people can change. Here are a few ways to help lower your risk:

🚭 If you smoke, quitting helps at any age. It lowers your risk for 12 different types of cancer.
🚶 Stay active in ways you enjoy. Walking, gardening, dancing and playing with grandchildren all count.
🥗 Eat more fruits and vegetables when you can. Small changes over time can add up.
🧴 Protect your skin from the sun year-round. Most skin cancers are diagnosed in adults over 65.

You don’t have to change everything at once. Start with one healthy habit, then keep building from there. 💙

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and our series continues with something that gets talked about less than screenings: the changes you notice.

Mammograms matter. So does knowing what’s normal for you and speaking up when something seems different.

A change doesn’t always mean cancer, but it’s still worth mentioning. If you notice a new lump, changes to your skin or anything else that concerns you, talk with your doctor.

Next in our series: The everyday choices that make a difference. 💗

Thinking about a winter getaway? Before you pack your bags, give us a call.

If you travel outside your home state for more than seven days, your plan’s Visitor Travel benefit can help you access routine care while you’re away. For example, it could cover a follow-up appointment for an ongoing condition.

To use the benefit, you’ll need to call Member Services at 800-240-3851 (TTY: 711) before you leave home. We’ll walk you through how it works so you can travel with confidence. ✈️

Our October cancer awareness series continues with a closer look at one screening in particular.
As part of colorectal cancer screening, your doctor may recommend a colonoscopy. If you’re feeling nervous about it, you’re not alone — but knowing what to expect can help.

💊 You’ll receive medication to help you relax.
⏱️ The procedure usually takes about 30 to 60 minutes.
🔍 A thin, flexible tube with a camera is used to check your colon for polyps or signs of cancer.
🏠 Most people can return to normal activities the next day.

Want to hear from people who’ve been through it? Watch this short video from the CDC: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQHfBz9WbeY.

If a colonoscopy is something you’ve been putting off, it’s worth bringing up at your next appointment.
