(español 👇) I’ve always loved moving my body and have been pretty consistent with exercise, but I’ve shifted my focus over time, depending on what my body needs.
In my 20s, I was a cardio ju**ie; it made me feel so good! But as I started to realize my body was under too much stress, I dialed back. In my 30s, I shifted my focus to lower-impact movement, mostly barre and yoga.
Now in my 40s, I realized my body needed something more: a reason to get stronger. A little more weight, more resistance and more sweaty sessions 😅
And it feels great! 💪
Strength training isn’t just about looking toned. Building and maintaining muscle supports our metabolism, blood sugar, bones, hormones, energy and our ability to stay strong and independent as we age.
And just as important: we don’t build muscle JUST by training… We need to train, fuel properly AND recover. 🤍. (nutrition is a KEY piece!)
