Indigenous Healing I Healing with Horses I Reiki Training I Circles & Community Gatherings

Creating spaces for healing, learning, connection and personal transformation through Indigenous wisdom, healing practices and community. In Ojibwe, it means 'She heals-She heals others' This relates to my own personal healing story, and the others that heal through our own healing. My name is Renee Butters, and my Anishinaabe name is Awanishbaasin which means 'The Breath of the Spirits.' My lineage is in the Ojibwe Snake Clan and I am a citizen of the White Earth Nation. I am an Indigenous Healing Practitioner who has worked in health & wellness for over 40 years. I have a special interest and share a deep connection with those who have experienced trauma, and I have additional training; specific to helping others move out of trauma, and into living their own best life, or 'Mino-bimaadiziwin!'

We often learn to push aside the uncomfortable emotions, to move past the grief, silence the anger or bury the hurt. But what we refuse to feel doesn't simply disappear. It often finds other ways to express itself in our bodies, our relationships and the way we move through life.

Every emotion has something to teach us. Even the difficult ones. When we begin to listen with curiosity rather than judgment, we create space to understand what lies beneath them. What needs our attention, what needs healing and what we may finally be ready to release.

Healing isn't about learning how not to feel. It's about learning how to be with what we feel without losing ourselves in it.

There is so much beauty in this world that we often overlook when we are moving too quickly through life.

In the smallest moments, the simplest things, the ordinary rhythms of nature. The morning light filtering through the trees, the changing colors of a leaf, the intricate patterns on a butterfly’s wings.

We live in a world that encourages us to keep moving, doing and rushing from one thing to the next. Somewhere along the way, we can become so busy living our lives that we forget to truly experience them.

Perhaps one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves is to slow down enough to see the beauty again. To remember that life is not only found in the extraordinary moments, but in the quiet, everyday ones we so often pass by. The beauty has always been there. Sometimes it is simply waiting for us to be present enough to notice.

Wisdom is reflected in how we live, how we treat one another, the kindness we extend and the choices we make each day.

And perhaps most importantly, in what we leave behind for the generations yet to come.

There is something beautiful about giving a gift that carries life forward.

A gift that can be planted, tended and nurtured. Something that grows, gives back and perhaps one day can be shared again.

Gifts for today, medicine for tomorrow and something living for the generations yet to come.🌱

What if awareness went deeper than a pink ribbon?

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a time to support those who have been diagnosed, honor those we have lost, celebrate survivors and also ask harder questions about prevention and root causes.

What if awareness meant looking more closely at what we are exposed to every day? What’s in our food, water, cosmetics, cleaning products and environment?

👉🏽 What if companies were held to higher standards for chemicals and ingredients linked to cancer, hormone disruption and other health concerns?

👉🏽 What if we questioned what is allowed to be sprayed on the food we eat, used in the products we put on our bodies, released into our water and air, and introduced into the environments where our children and grandchildren are growing up?

Prevention also means asking deeper questions:
What are we being exposed to?
Who benefits from those exposures?
Who decides what is safe?
And are we doing enough to protect the health of people, the Earth and all living beings before harm occurs?

Maybe awareness needs to be about more than finding cancer earlier.

Maybe it also needs to be about creating a world where fewer people develop it in the first place.

Day One, the space is ready✨

Today we begin two days of Reiki I & II and an Introduction to Indigenous Healing and this card feels like the perfect message to begin: I can be bold and beautiful.

A reminder that healing is not about becoming someone else. It is about remembering who we are beneath all the ways we have learned to quiet ourselves, question ourselves or make ourselves smaller.

We can be both grounded and courageous. Gentle and strong. Humble and fully expressed.

A message for those gathering here today and perhaps for anyone who needs the reminder: Take up space in your own life. Trust what you carry. Remember who you are.

Be bold. Be beautiful💫

Notice where your body softens, where you can breathe more deeply.

Notice the people, places and things that allow you to simply be, without having to brace, explain, shrink or abandon yourself. And notice what consistently disrupts that peace.

Your peace is giving you information.
Pay attention😊

It’s such a beautiful thing to witness students step forward into teaching and sharing Reiki with others. So proud of Dorothy and Christine as they continue to carry this healing work forward.

If you’re feeling called to begin your Reiki journey, they’ll be offering a Reiki I Certification Class on October 11th✨

Remembering that the world is still full of quiet beauty.

Birdsong, changing leaves, morning light. The sound of the wind moving through the trees. Life continuing in its own ancient rhythm.

Sometimes, the most restorative thing we can do is turn down the noise, step outside and remember how much beauty is still all around us.
