Broken by The Invisible 22 yrs actively working as a nurse. Then everything fell apart. My body, my identity, my ability. What is happening to me? This cannot be my end. You are not alone.

What is your story? Let this be a page to allow validation.

January 2022. The morning everything changed.

I went to bed as myself—and woke up to a body I suddenly didn’t recognize.

In this clip from my interview with Logan Crawford on Global Book Network, I share what happened that morning and the beginning of a journey I never could have imagined.

That morning eventually became part of the story behind Broken by the Invisible: A Journey Through Long Haul Covid and Being Unseen.

For anyone living with Long COVID or an invisible illness: I hope sharing these pieces of my story helps you feel a little less unseen. 💙

“What happens when an illness changes your life overnight… but the people you turn to for answers struggle to see or understand what you’re going through?”

That question opens my interview with Logan Crawford on Global Book Network.

And for so many of us living with Long COVID and invisible illness, it’s a question that hits incredibly close to home.

This is where our conversation begins. ❤️

It’s finally here. ❤️

Tonight I had the surreal experience of watching my interview with Logan Crawford on Global Book Network.

When I wrote Broken by the Invisible: A Journey Through Long Haul Covid and Being Unseen, I wanted to put into words what it feels like to live with an illness that can completely change your life while so much of what you’re experiencing remains invisible to everyone else.

Tonight, I got to tell that story in my own voice.

We talked about Long COVID, the years of searching for answers, what it has taken from me, my experience as a nurse suddenly becoming the patient, and why I ultimately decided to write this book.

Watching it back was emotional. But more than anything, I’m grateful.

Grateful for the opportunity to tell this story.
Grateful for every person who has read the book, shared it, reviewed it, or reached out to tell me they felt seen by it.
And grateful that a conversation about Long COVID and invisible illness is reaching people far beyond my little corner of Pennsylvania.

My interview is now available through Global Book Network and is being distributed across YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, Facebook and Roku. 🌎

I know I’ve been a little quiet on here lately. ❤️

Truthfully, I just haven’t wanted to post something for the sake of posting. Nothing I wrote felt quite right, so I decided not to force it.

Life has been a little quieter lately, and I think maybe I needed that.

There are still some exciting things happening behind the scenes with Broken by the Invisible, and I’ll have more to share about that soon. 🦋

But in between all of that, I’ve been giving myself permission to just… be.

Some days are productive. Some days aren’t.
Some days I have a million thoughts running through my head.
And some days I curl up, binge-watch The Pitt, and call that an accomplishment. 😂

I’m learning that I don’t always have to have something profound to say.

So today, I’m simply popping in to say hi. 👋❤️

I’m still here. And I’m very grateful that you are too.

I realized something this morning…

There are a whole lot of new faces here, and most of you probably know me as “the woman who wrote the Long COVID book.” 😂

But there’s a whole person behind those 52 pages.

So, a few completely random things about me:

🌽 I LOVE corn on the cob.
☀️ I would choose being too hot over being too cold any day.
☕ Coffee and I have a complicated relationship these days. Some days it smells like coffee. Other days my brain decides it smells like something that came out of the wrong end of a skunk. 😂
🐿️ I have a squirrel named Winston who apparently believes he owns one of my trees.
🐶 My dogs are family—and at least one of them is completely convinced he is a lapdog.
🌊 Put me near the ocean and I’m instantly happier.
🌱 I love gardening, canning, cooking…and I almost never measure anything. I just throw it in and hope for the best. 😂

And somewhere along the way, I became an author. Still getting used to saying that one.

So now I want to know something completely random about YOU.

Tell me one thing about yourself that I would never guess. 👇

And yes… weird answers are highly encouraged. 😂

You are not imagining the brain fog.

This week’s PET imaging coverage (CAMH / University of Toronto collaborators) reported lower levels of a dopamine nerve-terminal marker (VMAT2) in striatal regions among adults with Long COVID — linked in the analyses to apathy, slowed movement, and memory-related difficulties.

What this is not: a cure, a home test, or a reason to start/stop meds on your own. Researchers say reversibility and treatment options are still being studied.

We’re sharing it because overlooked communities deserve clear, sourced updates when biology catches up to lived experience.

Yesterday, my BFF took me to the beach. 🌊☀️

And I didn’t realize just how badly my soul needed it.

There’s something about the ocean—the sound of the waves, the salty air, the sun on your skin—that seems to quiet everything else for a little while.

Living with chronic illness has taught me that the good days aren’t something to take for granted. Sometimes healing doesn’t look like a cure. Sometimes it looks like sitting by the ocean with someone you love, laughing, breathing, and feeling like yourself again.

Yesterday was one of those days. 💞

I may have come home tired, but my heart—and my soul—felt a whole lot lighter.

So thankful for a best friend who knew exactly what I needed. 🌊❤️

These are the moments I’m learning to hold onto.

I never imagined I would write a book about losing the life I once knew.

But I also never imagined I would wake up one morning and suddenly become a stranger in my own body.

That morning eventually became the beginning of Broken by the Invisible: A Journey Through Long Haul Covid and Being Unseen.

I wrote it because I knew I couldn’t be the only one.

The only one searching desperately for answers while being told tests looked “normal.”

The only one grieving who she used to be while trying to figure out how to live in a body that no longer worked the way it once did.

The only one who needed someone—anyone—to simply say:

“I believe you.”

This is my story, but pieces of it belong to so many others.

If you’ve ever lived with an invisible illness, loved someone who has, felt dismissed when you knew something was wrong, or wondered what Long COVID can really look like behind closed doors, I hope you’ll read it.

And if you’ve been following my journey and thinking, “I really need to order her book…”

Today, I’m asking you to do it. ❤️

Buy the book. Read it. Share it. Pass it along to someone who needs it.

Because every copy that leaves Amazon has the potential to land in the hands of someone who needs to feel understood—or someone who needs to understand.
