October is pregnancy and infant loss awareness month 🤍🤍
We lost our sweet boy, Julian, last July when I was 6 months pregnant. His due date was 10/15/25, which also happens to be Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, today.
We lost our first pregnancy in May of 2022, she would be turning 4 so soon. I never imagined pregnancy loss would be a part of our story or such a significant part of my life for the past 4+ years. It’s a grief that’s alongside me in all moments and a continuous process of getting to know myself over and over again.
Something I hear a lot from others who’ve experienced pregnancy loss and that I feel so deeply is that these losses don’t go away, you don’t simply get over the loss of your baby and an entire potential future. Time hasn’t healed my heart, I’ve just learned with time how to allow my grief to be a part of my daily human experience. To feel into the complexities of grief, joy, sadness and hope all coexisting. So to all the other loss families out there, I see you and your babies today and every day ❤️🩹
Whether or not you’ve experienced pregnancy loss personally, I invite you to join the international wave of light tonight by lighting a candle at 7pm (or honestly anytime you can) in remembrance of all the sweet babies who still very much matter 🕯️✨💕
