🏡 Does someone you care for have trouble getting out for vaccines?

Our Vaccine-at-Home program is in progress, and we’ve been grateful for the positive feedback from patients and families.

If you know an older adult or homebound person—especially someone with Medicare—who needs help reviewing or receiving recommended vaccines, please contact our team.

We can help determine what services may be available and coordinate next steps.

🗑️ Have unused or expired medications at home?

Keeping medicines you no longer need can create safety risks for children, pets, visitors, and other household members.

Drug take-back programs are the preferred disposal option for most unused medications when available. Some medicines have special disposal instructions.

If you’re cleaning out the medicine cabinet and aren’t sure what to do with a product, ask your pharmacist before throwing it away or flushing it.

👟 Fall prevention is more than watching your step.

Some medications can contribute to dizziness, drowsiness, or blood-pressure changes that may increase fall risk for certain people.

If you or an older loved one has fallen recently—or has started feeling unusually light-headed or unsteady—consider a medication review as part of the conversation.

Never stop a medication abruptly because you think it may be responsible. Start by discussing the symptoms with your pharmacist and prescriber.

💙 Diabetes care involves more than one number.

Medication routines, nutrition, activity, blood-glucose monitoring when recommended, preventive visits, and medication storage can all play a role.

If you use insulin or another injectable medication, make sure you understand its storage requirements and what to do when traveling.

Have questions about supplies, timing, missed doses, or medication storage? Bring them to your pharmacist.

💉 One visit may cover more than one vaccine need.

Depending on age, health history, prior vaccination, and current recommendations, some vaccines can be administered during the same visit.

That can make respiratory-season preparation more convenient—especially for busy families, caregivers, and older adults.

Our pharmacy team can review your vaccine history and help identify appropriate options.

🤧 Cold-and-flu aisle reminder: check the active ingredients.

Many combination products contain more than one medicine, and different brands may contain the same ingredient.

That can lead to accidental duplication—especially with pain relievers, fever reducers, decongestants, antihistamines, and cough medicines.

If you take prescription medications or manage blood pressure, heart disease, glaucoma, prostate problems, or other conditions, ask your pharmacist before choosing a multi-symptom product.

🫁 When was the last time someone watched you use your inhaler?

Inhaler technique can affect how much medication reaches the lungs. Different devices also require different steps.

Even experienced inhaler users can pick up small technique issues over time.

If you use an inhaler, bring it to the pharmacy and ask us to review your technique. We can help with device preparation, breathing steps, spacer questions, and routine care.

💊 Today is Check Your Meds Day.

Set aside a few minutes to review what you’re actually taking.

Check for expired medications, duplicate OTC ingredients, prescriptions you no longer understand, supplements missing from your medication list, and refill problems you’ve been putting off.

Do not stop prescription medications on your own simply because you think you may no longer need them.

Instead, write down your questions and bring your complete medication list to your pharmacist or prescriber.

👏 Happy Pharmacy Technician Day!

Today we recognize the technicians who keep community pharmacy moving—processing prescriptions, resolving insurance issues, managing inventory, coordinating refills, supporting patients, and helping pharmacists provide safe care.

October 20 is also World Osteoporosis Day, a reminder that strong bones matter across the lifespan.

To our pharmacy technicians: thank you for the precision, patience, teamwork, and care you bring to patients every day.
