Good Morning everyone, I know this construction has been going on all summer long, but thankfully it looks like there’s an end insight. We are open and will remain open while they do the milling process and most of the paving as they pave in front of our office we will not be able to use the driveway at that time. We are trying to decide as to whether it is better to close the office for a couple days or continue remaining open and have people park on 300 W. and walk over definitely not the ideal situation that we would like. We would like to thank all of our patients for your continued business during this time. It is as much of a pain for you as it is for us. As soon as Vernal City has an answer as to when they will be in front of our office paving, I will let everybody know.
Again we thank you so very kindly for dealing with the construction.

Hello patients and friends even with the road construction going on on 100 N we are still open. I know it looks a little crazy to get to the office but the easiest way is to either come threw the old true value parking lot to the back and across 100 n or to make a left off 300

Thank you for your patience during the construction

Happy World Health Day!

Untreated hearing loss is strongly linked to accelerated cognitive decline, brain atrophy, and an increased risk of dementia. When hearing is impaired, the brain works harder to interpret sounds, reducing energy for memory and thinking. Using hearing aids can help protect brain health, improve social interaction, and reduce cognitive decline rates.

Key Connections Between Hearing and Brain Health
Brain Atrophy: Long-term, untreated hearing loss can cause areas of the brain responsible for processing sound (the auditory cortex) and memory to shrink or become smaller.

Cognitive Load: When sound signals are faint or unclear, the brain works harder (cognitive overload), stealing resources from other mental tasks like memory, focus, and comprehension.

Dementia Risk: Studies from Johns Hopkins University indicate that mild hearing loss doubles the risk of dementia, while severe, untreated hearing loss can increase the risk by up to five times.

Social Isolation: Difficulty hearing leads many to withdraw from conversations and social activities, which is a major factor in cognitive decline and depression.

Protecting Your Brain Health
Get Regular Check-ups: Regular hearing tests are crucial for detecting age-related hearing loss early.
Use Hearing Aids: Treating hearing loss with hearing aids can help prevent, delay, or slow cognitive decline.
Protect Your Ears: Avoid excessive noise exposure to protect the tiny hair cells in your ear from permanent damage.

Hearing loss often impacts family time by causing communication strain, leading to social withdrawal, misunderstandings, and listening fatigue, particularly in noisy environments. Family members may feel frustrated or isolated, while the individual with hearing loss may feel left out. Proactive strategies include using hearing aids, optimizing seating for better visibility, reducing background noise, and practicing patient, face-to-face communication.
