Family Indian Tribe 🪶✨

Last week, my dad and I traveled to Charles City, Virginia, and for the first time, we had the opportunity to experience a part of our family history in person

We connected with our Native American heritage, met relatives from our powwow tribe, and experienced the culture, the food, the people, and the traditions together.

This was my first time attending the annual gathering, and I’m SO glad I went. There’s something different about not just hearing where your family comes from, but actually being there, meeting family, and experiencing the Chickahominy tribe culture for yourself.

A deeper connection to our roots. And a piece of our family story I’ll never forget. (Plan to attend every year now)

Let’s talk about SELF-CARE💕

After 16 years as a massage therapist, one thing I know for sure is that taking care of yourself matters. But I also realize that self-care looks different for everybody.

So I want to hear from YOU.

I’ll be out at festivals, beaches, events and different places having real conversations with real people about self-care, wellness, stress, massage and how we take care of the bodies that carry us through life every single day.

Some conversations will be funny, some may get a little deeper, and some might make us look at self-care completely differently.

Self-care, wellness, & massage therapy is a subject I can talk about ALL DAY!

My goal is simple: talk, listen, learn and hopefully help somebody along the way.

PART 2: I LIVED ON A CRUISE SHIP FOR 7 MONTHS✨
When I boarded the ship, I was the only American woman working in the spa. There were about 14 of us altogether, from different parts of the world. I was told Americans were rarely hired because they had a reputation for not wanting to work as hard.

My first roommate would bring a married man into our room at night to have s*x with & I couldn’t sleep because of the noises. After dealing with it for days, I started secretly sleeping in the spa! I would literally sleep on the massage twin table, shower in the spa, get dressed & go right back to work. Until I was placed in my own cabin.

One day, a man chose me as his massage therapist and booked approximately 24 massages during a 26-day Hawaii to Alaska cruise. This man would fall asleep during every massage, wake up afterward and say: “That was the BEST massage I’ve ever had.” Those bookings pushed my sales and treatment numbers WAY UP, and I eventually reached the #1 spot in the company based performance.

And that’s when the energy around me became evil & jealousy. I felt like some of the women I worked with became envy & suspicious. At one point, someone even came walking into my treatment room during his massage, over a TISSUE BOX.

Later, I found out they were trying to record what was happening in my treatment room because they suspected something inappropriate was going on.
Meanwhile..the man was literally ASLEEP 😂

And then came MELBOURNE,AUSTRALIA🇦🇺 It was my ONE day off for the week.
We worked six days a week, so whenever I got that one day, I was OUTSIDE shopping & exploring. I completely lost track of time.
When I finally got into a cab and told the driver I needed to get back to the cruise terminal. The ship was leaving in about 30 MINUTES. So I started praying: “God, PLEASE let me make this ship.”

We got to the port…I jumped out of that cab with ALL my shopping bags & started SPRINTING. People were literally standing outside the ship CLAPPING AND CHEERING here she comes👏I dealt with coworkers Lieing on me. I dealt with misunderstandings & accusations, people believing things about me that I knew weren’t true. I finis

I GOT REJECTED THE FIRST TIME…BUT YEARS LATER, I ENDED UP WORKING ON A CRUISE SHIP ACROSS THE WORLD🌎🚢💆🏽‍♀️

Back in 2013, I traveled to Florida with my friend & neighbor Kia from high school. I apply to become a massage therapist on a cruise ship.

I didn’t get hired. I was devastated because I really wanted that opportunity. But little did I know, that wasn’t the end of the story. Fast-forward to 2018. I decided to try AGAIN. I wanted to travel the world doing massage therapy. This time, I GOT HIRED!

Before I could leave, I had to complete everything from firefighting and security training to CPR and other cruise-ship requirements in Florida☀️

Then, they sent me overseas to meet the ship. This was my first time leaving USA🇺🇸 and I was traveling alone.

One of my stops was China🇨🇳 When I arrived, I stood out because I looked different from most of the people around me. I was pulled aside & stripped searched during security. I was offended.

But an American man nearby noticed my reaction and asked me: “Is this your first time traveling outside of the United States?” I said yes.

He basically told me, If you’re going to travel the world, you have to understand that every country operates differently. Don’t take everything personally. I NEVER FORGOT THAT. That little piece of advice changed the way I approached traveling.

I continued my journey and eventually made it to New Zealand 🇳🇿And that’s when I realized something HORRIBLE.

I LEFT THE ENTIRE PACKAGE OF DOCUMENTS I NEEDED TO BOARD THE CRUISE SHIP AT HOME IN VIRGINIA! 😩

Meanwhile, the ship was experiencing major delays because of the weather and fog. I ended up spending unexpected time in New Zealand & Australia, staying in hotels & exploring new places. After nearly two weeks of delays, it was FINALLY time for us to board the ship. And guess what happened? The documents ARRIVED📦.What a miracle✨

And THAT was only the beginning of my Royal Caribbean cruise ship experience.
I have so many stories from what happened once I actually got onboard

I MET 12 WOMEN—COMPLETE STRANGERS—IN MEXICO…AND WE RODE ATVs ON THE BEACH🇲🇽🏝️🔥

But this post isn’t really about the ATVs⚠️

Word of advice today: GET OUT AND SEE THE WORLD🌎

If you’ve never traveled outside of the United States—or even outside of your own state—what are you waiting for?

There is a whole other world waiting for you to explore.

Sometimes you have to get outside of your hometown. Get away from the people who have known you your entire life. Step outside of your normal environment, your normal routine, and your normal way of thinking.

Because sometimes staying in the same environment can keep your vision in a box📦

I traveled to Mexico and connected with 12 business-minded women—women I had never met before. We weren’t just there to vacation.

We looked at investment properties.
We talked business.
We strategized.
We exchanged ideas.
We talked about what we wanted our futures to look like.
And most importantly, we expanded our vision🦅

Yes, you see us riding ATVs on the beach—and THAT was the fun part! 😂🔥

But what you don’t see in the pictures is the mindset shift that can happen when you put yourself in a completely different environment and surround yourself with people who are thinking about growth, ownership, business, investments, and MORE.

Travel can expand your mind, vision, & dreams. Don’t spend your entire life inside the same box.

Get your passport. ✈️
Meet new people.
Experience new cultures.
See something you’ve never seen before.
Dream bigger than your zip code.

The world is your oyster. 🌎✨

🏍️💨 6 YEARS ON TWO WHEELS…AND HERE’S WHAT I’VE LEARNED

I’m grateful to say I’m still here, still riding, and still able to tell my story. 🙏🏽💗

Motorcycles are FUN. They’re freeing. They look cool. And there’s nothing quite like getting on your bike, clearing your head, and feeling that air.

Over the years, I’ve heard and witnessed some HORROR stories.

I’ve heard about a rider being intentionally run off a dark road by a truck and getting seriously injured.

I’ve personally watched a motorcyclist get hit FROM BEHIND while sitting at a stoplight. The impact sent him flying through the air before landing on his back.

And being a woman riding a motorcycle brings another level of foolishness sometimes.

I’ve had people cut me off, record, yell, follow, make noises, and randomly try to RACE me like we signed up for NASCAR🏁

Meanwhile, I’m just trying to get where I’m going!

So when somebody tells me, “I want a motorcycle!” my response is: THINK ABOUT IT

There are too many distracted, impatient and careless drivers on the road. On a motorcycle, somebody else’s bad decision can become YOUR emergency in one second.

Have a life insurance policy. Take the class. Get the gear. Learn your bike. Stay sober. Stay alert. And NEVER let another driver pressure you into riding beyond your ability.

FAMILY TIME ❤️⚾️

Last night, my parents, niece, and I went to the Norfolk Tides baseball game, and we had such a good time together—Tides WON! ⚾️🥇

It reminded me of something important:

You can have all the success in the world.
You can have power, money, recognition, and the biggest title in the world…..

But nothing beats spending time with the people you love most.

Cherish the people who never gave up on you — even when you were at your lowest. The ones who saw the light in you when you couldn’t see it for yourself. The ones who encourage you, uplift you, support you, and pray for you.

For me, those people are my madre’ and my padre’

As they grow old together, I realize there is not enough time left to do the things we will do. They have spent so much of their lives taking care of our family & others. Now it’s time for me to make sure I take care of them. I’ll continue to love, & create memories with them while God gives us the time.

Money can be replaced.
Things can be replaced.
They cannot be replaced!
