Why do some women feel more confident during ovulation? 🤷
Ever have those days where you feel magnetic? You’re witty, confident, and somehow your skin is
glowing? Then, a week later, you’re suddenly second-guessing every text you’ve ever sent? Welcome to the hormonal confidence boost of ovulation. A time when your body is biologically primed to make you feel like ✨ that ✨ girl. So, why does this happen? ⤵
During ovulation (around days 12-16 of your cycle, your body experiences a natural surge of:
šŸ”„ Estrogen: Boosts serotonin and dopamine, making you feel happier, more social, and switched
on.
šŸ”„ Testosterone: Increases confidence, motivation, and even libido. (Yes, nature wants you to be a
little bolder right now.)
The result? You may feel more:
Social & outgoing – Perfect for networking, first dates, or pitching that big idea.
Flirtatious & magnetic – Studies even suggest women’s voices become slightly higher-pitched and their faces more symmetrical during ovulation. (Basically, Mother Nature is setting the stage.)
āœ” Energetic & motivated – Workouts feel easier, productivity is high, and you might feel more decisive.
Fast forward a week, and progesterone starts rising. This hormone is calming, but also slows things down, which is why you might feel less extroverted and more drawn to your couch and comfort foods.
It’s not that your confidence disappeared, it’s just that your body is shifting gears. Understanding
these shifts means you can work with them instead of fighting them:
Plan important meetings, dates, or big decisions during ovulation when you naturally feel more
outgoing and assured.
Use the boost in testosterone for strength training or competitive activities.
Don’t panic when the high-energy feeling fades, it’s not you, it’s just progesterone doing its job.

Ever noticed this confidence shift? Let me know in the comments! šŸ‘‡

Your grandkids don’t need a younger version of you. They need YOU — healthy, strong, and here. šŸ’š
They need you on the floor playing with them.
They need you at the birthday parties, graduations, holidays, and family vacations.
They need your stories, your hugs, your laughter — and all the little moments you haven’t even experienced yet.

That’s why taking care of your health matters.

It’s not about chasing youth. It’s about protecting your health, caring for your body, and being intentional about how you age.

Eat well. Move your body. Build strength. Prioritize sleep. Manage stress. Stay on top of your health. And when appropriate, work with a qualified provider to understand your hormones and overall wellness.

Because longevity isn’t simply about living longer.

It’s about being well enough to actually LIVE the years you’re given.

Take care of yourself now — your future self, your family, and those sweet grandbabies will thank you. šŸ’š

You’ve cleaned up your diet and filled your plate with greens šŸ„—ā€¦ so why do you feel worse?

For some women, a high-veggie, plant-heavy diet can actually trigger more inflammation, gut issues, and even hormonal imbalances. One major reason?
šŸ‘‰ Oxalates. šŸ‘ˆ
Oxalates are naturally occurring compounds found in many plant foods, especially:
🟢 Spinach
🟢 Kale
🟢 Almonds
🟢 Sweet potatoes
🟢 And beets
While they aren’t inherently bad, in high amounts they can cause problems, especially if your body
has trouble processing them.
āŒ Gut Health & Nutrient Absorption
High oxalate intake can contribute to leaky gut, bloating, and digestive distress. They can also bind
to minerals that are essential for hormone balance, like calcium, magnesium, and iron, making them
harder to absorb.
āŒ Estrogen Metabolism
Oxalates may impair proper estrogen detoxification by overwhelming the liver and gut. If you’re prone
to estrogen dominance (hello, PMS, heavy periods, and hormonal weight gain), a high-oxalate diet
could be making things worse.
āŒ Thyroid Function
Oxalates can interfere with iodine absorption, which your thyroid needs to produce hormones. If you’re already struggling with low thyroid function (fatigue, weight gain, hair thinning), reducing high-oxalate foods could help.
āŒ Inflammation & Joint Pain
Oxalates can form crystals in tissues, contributing to inflammation, muscle stiffness, and even chronic pain conditions like vulvodynia and interstitial cystitis (painful bladder syndrome).
More veggies aren’t always better, especially if you’re unknowingly overloading your body with oxalates.

It’s not just in your head—it’s your hormones at work! Allow me to explain…
During summer, longer daylight hours keep cortisol (your stress hormone) a little more stable, and melatonin (your sleep hormone) stays lower for longer. This is why you might:
- Feel more energetic
- Sleep less
- Have an easier time waking up.

Come winter? It’s a different story.
Less sunlight = lower serotonin (hello, mood swings) and increased melatonin production (why you
suddenly feel like hibernating under a weighted blanket from October to March). If you find yourself
craving more sleep and more carbs in the colder months, your body is biologically wired for it.
If you’ve ever wondered why your cycle feels slightly different in summer vs. winter, it’s because
estrogen and progesterone can also fluctuate with seasonal light exposure!
āž” Ovulation rates may be higher in spring / summer when we get more vitamin D.
āž” Meanwhile, some women notice increased PMS symptoms in the darker months.
āž” Probably due to a mix of lower vitamin D, more inflammation, and disrupted circadian rhythms.
But it doesn’t stop there!
ā„ Cold weather means your body has to work harder to maintain core temperature, which increases
thyroid hormone activity and calorie burn.
ā˜€ On the flip side, summer heat naturally makes you less hungry because your body isn't working
overtime to stay warm.
Aim to keep your hormones happy year-round by:
āœ… Getting outside—especially in winter!
āœ… Supporting your circadian rhythm by avoiding too much screen time before bed.
āœ… Eating seasonally —nature knows what it’s doing.
āœ… Supporting your thyroid with selenium, zinc, and iodine-rich foods.
āœ… Managing stress — movement, meditation, or just saying ā€œnoā€ more often.

Not sure where to start? Give us a call, and let’s get your hormones working with you, not against you!

These aren’t random symptoms—they’re your hormones sending SOS signals, asking for attention.
While hormonal health can feel like a puzzle, there’s one powerful, often-overlooked piece that can make a big difference:
Sulfur-rich foods!
I know–that’s probably the last thing you were expecting to read. But hear me out, if your hormones
are screaming for help, here’s why sulfur-rich foods could be the answer:
1. Detox Support
Your liver is your detox HQ, breaking down excess estrogen and clearing toxins that throw hormones
out of sync. Sulfur compounds, like glutathione (your body’s master antioxidant), power these pathways.
2. Calming Inflammation
Chronic inflammation is like static on a radio—it scrambles hormonal communication, spikes cortisol, and interferes with thyroid function. Sulfur compounds like sulforaphane (found in cruciferous veggies) and allicin (from garlic and onions) actively lower inflammation.
3. Gut Health
Your gut isn’t just for digestion—it breaks down and eliminates excess hormones and supports serotonin and dopamine production. Sulfur-rich foods nourish beneficial gut bacteria, improving this essential function.
4. Antioxidant Protection
Sulfur supports the production of glutathione, which shields your cells from oxidative stress caused by toxins, stress, and environmental factors. This keeps hormone-producing systems, like your thyroid and adrenals, running smoothly.

Here are some of my favorite ways to get more sulfur in through diet:
šŸ”ø Steam cruciferous veggies to unlock their benefits without upsetting digestion.
šŸ”ø SautĆ© garlic and onions as your meal base.
šŸ”ø Add asparagus to soups.
šŸ”ø Start your day with eggs—bonus points for nutrient-packed yolks.
Remember to start slow and pair sulfur-rich foods with fiber and water to keep digestion happy.

Did you know that sulfur is amazing for hormone health?
