You can’t truly help someone in the way they need until you learn how to support them in a trauma-informed way.

What happens outside your session matters just as much as what happens inside it.

You can spend an hour creating safety, building trust, practicing body awareness, and helping a client reconnect with what their body is telling them.

And then they can walk into a space where they’re told to:

“Push through it.”
“Don’t stop.”
“No pain, no gain.”

For someone with a history of trauma, those messages can reinforce the very patterns you’re working to move away from.

Trauma-informed training isn’t just about what happens during the hour you have with a client.

It’s about creating an environment where their boundaries are respected, their choices are honored, and rest isn’t treated as failure.

The goal isn’t to make someone tolerate more. It’s to help them feel safe enough to listen to themselves.

Week 8 of 10, and it's our last live week đŸŒ±

This cohort started as 8 weeks. You asked for more time, so we made it 10 for the same price. From here, it's office hours while everyone wraps up their final projects.

Cohort folks and those previously Certified: Coach Brandon Chien is leading a practice lab this Thursday, October 15. Details are in Slack.

What we keep seeing is people applying this work straight away in their professional lives. Trainers, clinicians, and coaches are bringing trauma-informed strength to their clients, their patients, and themselves.

The next cohort starts in the spring. Want to build this specialization into your work? Follow us and join the waitlist. The new enrollment date drops soon.

You can’t read the room the same way through a screen.

So how do you coach in a trauma-informed way when your client is a small box on a laptop?

That’s what we’re practicing Thursday in The Weight Room Practice Lab. Current cohort, Oct 15, 11am PT / 2pm ET.

You brought yourself to TIWL. You got certified so you can help people. People who carry trauma. People working through life, rebuilding themselves, being present, reconnecting with themselves.

This is for the people who want to help others do the same.

Friendly reminder that movement supports your mental health as much as your physical health.

On the days you don’t want to leave the house, you get to choose what “showing up” looks like. Sometimes that’s a full workout. Sometimes it’s five minutes of stretching on the floor. Both count.

There’s no version of this where you have to push through what your body is telling you. Just come back to it when you can.

Is rage lifting good for you? Our honest answer: sometimes.

That 300lb weight slam can bring real relief. Anger carries energy, and moving it through your body can feel amazing.

But relief and regulation aren't the same thing. Relief can be plain exhaustion, or pressure that builds right back up by dinner. A regulated lift still leaves room to notice, choose, and stop.

Coaches, try one question before you add intensity: "What are you noticing in your body right now?"

Fierce is welcome here. So is staying connected to your body.
