We’re excited to welcome four exceptional physicians to Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Orthopaedic Surgery and Podiatry in Asheboro! Please join us in welcoming Dr. Shakeel Durrani, Dr. Jeffrey Yaste, Dr. Titorya Stover, and Dr. Lance Sisco to our team.

Together, we’re expanding access to exceptional orthopaedic and podiatric care for our community. 🖤💛

✨ Physician Spotlight: Welcome Dr. Shakeel Durrani! ✨

Please join us in welcoming Shakeel Durrani, MD, FAAOS, ABOSD, to Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Orthopaedic Surgery!

Dr. Durrani is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with subspecialty training in trauma and spine surgery. He treats a broad range of orthopaedic conditions, including fractures, hip, knee and shoulder replacements, and hand and wrist conditions. His clinical interests include cervical disc arthroplasty, kyphoplasty, and cervical and lumbar spine procedures for degenerative and traumatic conditions.

With extensive experience in both surgical and nonsurgical treatment, Dr. Durrani is committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centered orthopaedic care.

When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. Durrani enjoys running half marathons, bicycling, and working on his farm.

We’re excited to welcome Dr. Durrani to our team as we continue to provide exceptional orthopaedic care to our community. 🖤💛

Please join us in welcoming Melissa Wright, MD, FAAOS, ABOSD, to Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Orthopaedic Surgery!
Dr. Wright is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in shoulder and elbow care, with expertise in treating arthritis, rotator cuff and biceps tears, instability, and fractures. In addition to providing exceptional patient care, she is an active researcher focused on improving access to care and patient outcomes in shoulder surgery.
When she’s not in the clinic or operating room, Dr. Wright enjoys hiking, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.

We’re proud to celebrate the incredible work and contributions of our Wake Forest University School of Medicine faculty and students. A special shoutout to Claude “T” Moorman, Molly Hartzler, Holly Pilson, and Faraji Woodson for sharing their expertise through outstanding presentations!

Big wins for our Orthopaedic team! 🎉
Through multidisciplinary collaboration, patient-centered education, optimized care pathways, and a relentless focus on quality, our Total Shoulder Replacement program has achieved a remarkable improvement in same-day discharge rates—rising from 13% to 73%.
This achievement reflects more than a number. It represents greater efficiency, enhanced recovery, and the ability for more patients to return home the same day while maintaining a strong focus on safety, outcomes, and experience.
Thank you to the surgeons, nurses, therapists, navigators, anesthesia teams, and support staff whose dedication made this success possible. Together, we’re helping patients recover where they most want to be—at home.

The broader Musculoskeletal Service Line has identified same-day discharges, including total shoulders, as a key quality initiative, demonstrating the organization’s commitment to advancing recovery pathways and patient-centered care.
