A little reminder that you don't have to spend every day doing. Sometimes it's good to put down the to-do list, leave the chores for later, pour yourself something warm, and simply unwind. ☕️ There will always be laundry there will always be dishes, there will always be something that needs tending. But these quiet moments? They matter too. 🤎
So today, I'm choosing a few minutes of peace, a cozy cup, and some time to just breathe. Rest is part of the homestead life, too. 🌾

Summer blooms have a way of slowing us down and reminding us to soak in the little moments. This beautiful white peony from my garden was too perfect not to share!

This summer feels especially meaningful as we're making memories before Jaz heads off to college in August. It's a season of full schedules, busy mornings, family time, and appreciating the simple beauty that surrounds us.
I'm learning that every bloom has its season - and so do we.

There is something so satisfying about taking an item that has served its purpose and giving it an entirely new life!

This old cutting board was transformed using paint, decoupage, jute, and a little creative vision to become coastal wall decor with a Maine feel. The weathered wood look, vintage lobster image, and natural rope details bring together everything I love about our beautiful state - working waterfronts, salty air, and simple rustic charm.

Upcycling projects like this remind me that beauty can often be found underneath worn surfaces. Sometimes all it takes is a little paint, a little patience, and the willingness to see something differently. 💗

🌿🌸 From Thrift Store Find to Cottage Garden Charm 🌸🌿
I found this little wooden box at the thrift shop and knew it deserved a second chance.

After painting it white, I used a floral napkin decoupage technique to add soft vintage-inspired blooms, then finished it with antiquing wax to create an aged, timeworn look. The wax settled into the details beautifully, giving the piece a warm character that makes it feel like a treasured heirloom.
There's something so satisfying about taking a simple, overlooked item and turning it into something unique and beautiful. Every piece tells a story, and this one now feels right at home with the cottage-inspired style I love.
