I flew straight from a 10-day vacation in Portugal to New York to speak at the WICT Network's Leadership Conference. And all I have to say is: TOTALLY WORTH IT 🥳

I shared The Team Alignment Playbook: Turn Siloed Teams into Collaborative Powerhouses with a room full of leaders ready to strengthen how their teams work together.

One key takeaway to keep top of mind?

Misalignment is an organizational debt that compounds if left unaddressed.

Organizations often see the early warning signs. The response?

Waiting costs us time, talent, and momentum. Eventually, it hits the P&L.

So: Act on early warning signs. Don’t wait until something is on fire.

"TSCPA - best speaker I have ever heard at one of your events."
WHAT?! 🤯 I had to read that feedback twice.

Last week, I had the honor of opening the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants' Women's Leadership Conference with a session on Mastering Mental Fitness.

I shared how mental fitness carried me through my fertility challenges, plus tools to recognize and quiet the saboteurs behind stress and self-doubt.

Afterward, women kept coming up to tell me the session had brought them to tears AND left them feeling empowered.
That combination is absolute AWESOMESAUCE in my book. 💗

And if that wasn't enough, I had the privilege to close out the conference on a panel about The Modern Leader: AI, Influence & Reinventing the Rules with some rockstars: Samantha Mansfield, Nina Morel, and Jennifer Kohlbacher, moderated by Kara Fitzgerald,.

We explored the impact of AI on our lives, learning to say no (and not trying to do it all), letting go of the "nice girl" role while staying kind and firm, and everything in between.

So much wisdom in one row of chairs!

Huge thank you to Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants for having me, and to Julia Johnson for all the behind-the-scenes work that made it happen. You made it look easy, and I know it wasn't.

It's been a week, but I'm still soaking all the energy in. 🥹

I'm still reveling in the energy and humanness from last week in Chicago with the American Epilepsy Society leadership team. ❤️

The leaders did something hard... they got vulnerable with each other right from the start. And that ability to connect and be human set the tone for everything we did after.

We wrestled with
👉🏼 leadership team purpose
👉🏼 how we make decisions
👉🏼 how we disagree and have conflict as a team

We challenged assumptions and had the conversations that are easy to put off when there's always another urgent thing demanding attention.

At the end of the 2 days, there was so much energy in the room.
And... we were tired. 😂

That’s the thing about real leadership alignment work.
It isn’t always easy. And it shouldn’t be.

Sometimes progress looks like leaving the room energized AND mentally exhausted because you actually worked through the things that matter.

Huge appreciation to the AES leadership team for your trust, your openness, and for bringing me into the fold for this work.

Grateful to be alongside you and look forward to the next 9 months! ❤️

Still reveling in the energy from NHRMA - Northwest Human Resource Management Association last week! 🥳

I had the chance to speak twice:

So many great conversations and connections sparked from those two sessions.

And consistently I heard some version of:

"We've got some challenges inside our organization..."

Silos. Avoided conversations. Misalignment. Conflict. Lack of accountability. Leadership infighting.

Followed by:

"But nothing is on fire. Yet. So there's little urgency from leadership to do anything about it."

It has me wondering:

How long should we tolerate a problem we KNOW exists simply because nothing is on fire... yet? 👀

I'm completely WIPED OUT 😴 AND completely ENERGIZED 😎 Is that possible?!

Just got home from ASAE The Center for Association Leadership's Annual Meeting & Expo.

I spoke all three days, which was equal parts exhilarating and what was I thinking?!
👉🏼 Saturday: Mastering Mental Fitness for Purposeful Leadership
👉🏼 Sunday: Mastering the Art of Celebrating Wins
👉🏼 Monday: Building Mental Fitness mini-session

And somewhere in between, I:
💞 Met so many new faces
💞 Reconnected with people I haven't seen in far too long
💞 Played a ridiculous number of silly games in the exhibitor hall
💞 Had conversations that sparked new ideas, collaborations, and friendships
💞 And got to see Babyface perform live!

There's something special about the association world. It's built on relationships. It's deeply human. And that's something AI can never replace.

People make time to reconnect. They introduce you to someone you should know. They share ideas and resources. They cheer each other on.

And the icing on the cake? Hearing the impact of my work on people who attended.

One of my favorite comments: “Celebration is a muscle—one that I’ve let atrophy. Amy gave me a framework to get it moving again.”

THAT is why I love doing this work. 💞
