After opening its doors in January 2021, Cedar Valley Primary Care & Walk-In Clinic has seen a multitude of walk-in and scheduled patients seeking non-emergent care. The practice has grown to include multiple providers and all patients are seen by a board-certified physician during their visit. Cedar Valley Primary Care & Walk-In Clinic is a branch of Cedar Valley Medical Specialists, a group of independent medical specialists determined to provide world-class care in the Cedar Valley.

Update for Our Patients

Dr. Poock’s office will be closed for in-person visits tomorrow, Monday, October 26, but we will remain available by phone 8-5. Please leave a message, and we will return your call as soon as possible.

Please rest assured that we are working hard to resolve the current issues affecting patient access to care. We understand how frustrating and concerning this situation is, and we are doing everything we can to find a path forward. We will continue to share updates here as more information becomes available.

We are incredibly grateful for the trust you place in Dr. Poock and our team. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued support during this difficult time.

Due to recent events as seen in the media, Dr. Poock's office will not be seeing patients today (10/22/26) or tomorrow (10/23/26). At this time, we plan to be open again on Monday to care for our patients. We thank our staff for their hard work and dedication. We are still answering phones, leave a message and we will get back to you. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Even during challenging and uncertain times, your dedication to your patients and your commitment to being there for them never waiver. Your compassion, hard work, and determination to continue providing the care your patients depend on speak volumes about the kind of physician and person you are.

We know things haven’t been easy lately, and we hope you know how much you are appreciated — not only for everything you do, but for who you are. You’ve shown us that being a great leader is about more than a title. It’s about standing by your people, caring for others, and doing what’s right even when things get difficult.

Important Clinic Hours Update....
Effective immediately, our office will close at noon on Fridays.

Dr. Poock and the entire Cedar Valley Primary Care team sincerely thank you for your patience and understanding as we have worked through many clinic changes over the past six months. We apologize for having to discontinue evening and weekend hours, as well as walk-in appointments for patients who are not established with Cedar Valley Primary Care. These are not changes we wanted to make.

Because Dr. Poock is currently our only provider, appointment availability and office wait times will likely be affected. We appreciate your continued patience and promise to provide every patient with the best care possible.

If you call and cannot get an appointment as soon as you believe you need one, please ask to speak with one of our nurses. They will help determine the best option for your care. If you are acutely ill or have an urgent medical need, we will make sure you are taken care of.

Calling ahead is strongly preferred so we can recommend the best arrival time and help you avoid a long wait. However, if you must walk in with an urgent medical need, we will take care of you.

Thank you for trusting us with your medical care. Your referrals and kind words about our team are the reason our practice has grown so quickly, and we are truly grateful for your continued support and understanding.

Congratulations to our Abby! 🎉

Last night, Abby celebrated a huge milestone as she completed her first year of nursing school and participated in her pinning ceremony. She will take her boards this summer to earn her LPN, and then head back to school this fall to continue working toward her RN.

We are so proud of all of her hard work and dedication. We’re also thankful she’ll continue helping our team at the front desk and assisting with patient care along the way.

Congratulations, Abby — we are so happy for you and excited to watch your nursing journey continue! ❤️

Due to a significant increase in established patients and the recent loss of a provider, the Waterloo office will be updating its walk-in services to better serve all patients and maintain quality care.

Effective June 1, the Waterloo location will offer walk-in appointments for established patients only. This change is necessary to help manage patient volume, support our staff and minimize disruptions to scheduled appointments.

The Parkersburg office will continue to accept walk-in patients as usual.

We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to provide the best possible care to our communities.
