I’m interested in learning what research can teach us about fascia and manual therapy, while recognizing the challenges of studying individualized, hands-on care.
I value clinical experience and patient outcomes, and I want to distinguish those observations from what research has established about how or why a treatment works.
My goal is to remain curious and open-minded while communicating responsibly.
That means being clear about what a study actually shows, where its limitations are, and what remains a hypothesis.
This also means being curious about what social media posts are claiming to be fact.
Research on fascia’s properties does not automatically establish the effectiveness or mechanism of a particular treatment.
Likewise, difficulties studying manual therapy deserve consideration, but they don’t establish that an untested explanation is true.
I want to share promising findings without overstating them, extending them beyond what was studied, or presenting possibilities as proven facts.
All I know is I work with a lot of people who get significant improvements with MFR treatment, where all other treatments had failed.
