This is pretty much the secret sauce of my personalized approach to grief work…
Feeling this moment authentically wasn’t something I was necessarily mindful of — I felt it bubbling up and FELT IT.
I didn’t think my way out of my grief. I didn’t try to make it fit for public consumption. It doesn’t matter if it’s a human or animal companion, our grief needs to be embodied.
And honestly, I’m not upset with how I handled any of my grief. I accept it as something natural, like breathing.
What a gift that I’ve experienced love in a way that reminds me I’m wildly alive. I spent so much of my life making sure I never got “too close” to people, and in this phase of my life — if it’s not authentic and honest I don’t want it.
Grief compounds. I recorded a whole podcast episode on the anniversary of my soul cat dying a few days after my mentor did.
My paternal grandfather died this year too.
To say it’s been heavy is an understatement, but my life has been rich with love and compassion.
The sacred space I create in astrology readings, herbal consultations, and any of my containers is something LIVING.
This isn’t something regurgitated from a text book. It’s compounded conversations, experiences, and the longing for a more connected future.
I truly believe in a world where we can grieve and be supported fully and with compassion. I hope it’s something more normalized.
I share these intimate parts of my life because life isn’t a highlight reel.
It’s messy and raw. But I’m so proud of the interactive life around me that I’ve built.
If you’re looking for it, this is your permission slip to be HUMAN.
Mess up. Grow. Laugh. Cry. Shake. Dance. Cry again. It’s all a part of the gift.
If you’re afraid of big emotions like grief, sadness, and anger — I’m glad you’re here.
My work is proof that you can feel your emotions without them taking over your life.
Every Thursday you can hear me in your headphones, on your daily commute, or just spend some virtual time together by listening to Iridescent 💛
Together, we can create space to get to know the grief in our lives, especially that of losing a pet. Grief is grief. There’s no comparison.
