You’ve been taking the supplements for three months. You’re still not feeling better. Now what?

That question deserves a conversation with the person guiding your care. What were the recommendations intended to address? Has anything changed? Is it time to adjust the plan or reconsider what might be contributing?

At MIMC, we want you to understand the reasoning behind your care, including where supplements fit, what we’re watching and when we’ll reassess. Your follow-up is an opportunity to talk honestly about what’s helping, what’s difficult to maintain and what still needs attention.

If you have a cabinet full of supplements and questions about why you’re taking them, bring both.

Women’s health is something we’re deeply passionate about at MIMC, because the decisions women make about their hormones deserve more than fear, confusion, or one-size-fits-all answers.

Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) can be an important option for some women navigating perimenopause and menopause, but understanding the benefits, risks, and alternatives is essential.

For example, hormonal birth control and menopausal hormone therapy serve different purposes and use different formulations. Both can carry risks, including blood clots, depending on the medication and individual circumstances. Your personal and family history matter, which is why these conversations deserve time, nuance, and individualized guidance.

At MIMC, we believe women deserve to understand their options, ask questions, and feel empowered to make informed decisions about their health. Our goal isn’t to tell you what choice to make. It’s to help you understand what may be right for *you*.

Because women deserve to feel heard, informed, and confident in their care.

We’re keeping the ghost stories this October. 👻

Being told your labs are “normal” when you still don’t feel like yourself? That’s a ghost story.

Or living with exhaustion, brain fog, and changes in your body because you’ve been told it’s just part of getting older.

You deserve better than guesswork.

At Minneapolis Integrative Medicine Center, we take the time to understand the bigger picture. Your history, your symptoms, your labs, and how you actually feel all matter. Your Comprehensive Wellness Assessment is the first step toward understanding what may be contributing to your symptoms and determining what to explore next.

Bring your questions. Bring your lab results. Bring that supplement from TikTok. We’ll help you connect the dots.

Contact our team, and we’ll help you take the next step.

Wishing you a happy and safe Halloween from all of us at MIMC! 🎃

“I don’t feel like myself” is enough to begin a conversation. You don’t need to arrive with a suspected diagnosis or know which tests to ask for.

At MIMC, your Comprehensive Wellness Assessment gives us time to understand what you’ve been experiencing, what you’ve already tried and what you’d like help with.

From there, your clinician can recommend next steps and explain the reasoning behind them. If testing is useful, you’ll review the findings together and discuss how they inform your care.

As you put the plan into practice, follow-up gives you a place to ask questions, share what’s improving and talk through what needs adjusting.

You might write “bloating” on your intake form, then realize there’s quite a bit more to explain.

When it happens, whether it’s painful, changes in your digestion, and what you’ve already tried.

At your first visit, we make space for that conversation. Those details help us understand your symptoms in the context of your health history and consider the next steps with you.

If something didn’t fit neatly on the form, bring it up. It belongs in the conversation, too. 🌿

If you’re considering hormone pellets, you may have questions beyond how they work. Why choose them over a patch or oral pharmaceutical? How is the dose selected? What happens if you experience side effects?

At MIMC, you can bring those questions into a conversation about your symptoms, health history and treatment goals. Your provider can help you understand the available options, their benefits and risks, and what follow-up would involve.

Because pellets release hormones over several months and aren’t easily adjusted once placed, that discussion matters before treatment begins.

The first fever of the season usually sends parents looking for what they can do right now. A visit while your child is feeling well gives you time to ask the questions that are harder to sort through on a sick day.

What’s worth keeping on hand? Are the supplements you’re giving appropriate for their age? Are you doubling up on ingredients across a multivitamin and an “immune support” product?

Dr. Lori can review your child’s health history, eating habits and digestive concerns, along with the supplements they’re already taking. That includes discussing safety, dosing and whether a product has evidence to support its use.

You can also talk through their pattern of illnesses, what recovery has looked like and any concerns you’ve been meaning to bring up.

A visit won’t prevent every classroom bug, but it can help you head into the season with guidance specific to your child.

Maybe your periods are still arriving, but less predictably. You’re waking during the night, feeling more irritable, or noticing that your usual routine feels harder to manage. It can be difficult to explain when several things have changed gradually.

Perimenopause may be part of that conversation. Your provider can also consider other contributors, including thyroid conditions, iron status, medications and sleep.

At MIMC, we take time to understand what’s changed, when you first noticed it and how it’s affecting you. That history helps guide the evaluation and a discussion of care options.

You don’t need to wait until your periods stop to bring it up. Explore women’s health care at MIMC through the link in our bio.

When fatigue starts affecting your day, it’s understandable to look for something that might help. But what helped a friend may have little to do with what’s causing your exhaustion.

At MIMC, we want to know when it started, what else you’ve noticed and how it’s changed your life. A heavier period if cycling, disrupted sleep or a change in digestion may be something you hadn’t thought to connect to your energy.

You don’t need to know which details are medically relevant before your appointment. Bring what you’ve noticed. Your provider can help make sense of it and determine what deserves a closer look.
