We’re excited to welcome Gateway Therapies to West Bend! Currently based in the Thiensville/Mequon area, they’ll also be seeing clients at Antidote Health Co beginning November 2026.

Gateway specializes in fascial counterstrain, a gentle, hands-on therapy that uses light pressure and comfortable positioning to help ease pain and tension and improve movement.

Practitioners use this approach for neck and back pain, headaches, joint stiffness, and nerve-related discomfort. Broader proposed uses include swelling, digestive symptoms, and autonomic nervous system concerns, and research into these applications is still developing.

We’ve experienced Gateway’s care firsthand for shoulder concerns, including limited range of motion, pain with reaching, and discomfort while sleeping. In one of our experiences, there was significant improvement after just two sessions—and the shoulder felt 100% better after four. That personal experience is a big part of why we’re excited to welcome them!

The 4th Trimester
Rest. Fuel. Recover.

Your baby is here, but your body is still doing a lot of work. The weeks and months after birth bring changes that deserve attention, too.

Hormone shifts: Estrogen and progesterone drop rapidly after delivery, which can contribute to mood swings and tearfulness. Persistent sadness, anxiety, or symptoms that interfere with daily life deserve care—not dismissal as “just hormones.”

Thyroid changes: Some women develop postpartum thyroiditis during the first year after birth. Symptoms such as fatigue, a racing heart, constipation, or feeling unusually hot or cold can overlap with everyday postpartum experiences. Testing can help clarify what’s happening.

Nutrition and recovery: Regular, nourishing meals matter—and so do micronutrients like iron, B12, folate, and iodine. Breastfeeding increases several nutrient needs. Identifying and treating deficiencies with appropriate nutrition and supplementation can support recovery; everyone’s needs are different.

The 4th trimester deserves attention to your physical recovery, emotional wellbeing, and nourishment—not just your baby’s needs.

Care that looks deeper and listens longer.

🌿 Grounding practices

With the upcoming stretch of warmer weather, it’s a great time to get outside — and reconnect in simple ways that support how we feel.

Spending time in direct contact with the earth — gardening, walking barefoot, or standing outside — is often called grounding or earthing.

From a physiologic perspective, the earth carries a subtle negative charge, while our bodies can become relatively electron deficient (positively charged) from daily exposures like electronics, stress, and limited outdoor time. Direct contact with the ground may allow for a small transfer of electrons, which could help neutralize free radicals and support a more balanced inflammatory state.

Research is still evolving, but many people notice these practices feel calming, stabilizing, and restorative — especially in a world that keeps us indoors and overstimulated.

Sometimes support doesn’t come from doing more, but from returning to what’s always been there.

Hi Everyone, please join us for a free community talk:

Raising Resilient Families: A Practical Guide to Immune Health
With Dr. Kelly Darmody, MD & Erica Reigle, NP

What if frequent illness, fatigue, allergies, or “just not feeling right” weren’t random… but signals from an overwhelmed immune system?

Join us for an engaging evening where we’ll break down immune health in a way that actually makes sense — and give you tools you can start using right away.

Here’s what we’ll cover:

🧬 Understanding the Immune System
How immune cells, antibodies, allergies, and inflammation work — and what imbalance can look like in kids and adults.

🦠 Why Gut Health Shapes Immunity
How the microbiome influences nutrient absorption, inflammation, sleep, and resilience — and what digestive symptoms may be telling you.

🧠 Nervous System Regulation & Chiropractic Connection
How stress, sleep, breathwork, and chiropractic care support nervous system balance — helping the immune system communicate and respond more effectively.

🌿 Simple Daily Strategies for Families
Practical guidance on nutrition, vitamin D, sleep rhythms, environmental support, and natural tools to help prevent illness and recover faster.

This is a free talk designed for parents, caregivers, and families who want to better understand their bodies — and support them naturally and proactively.
