Form before technique.
It's hard to know when you're in the right spot when doing an exercise.
For a single arm bench row, using a long bar gives you a better idea of what a tall, long posture should feel like.
You want three points to match: the back of the head, between your shoulder blades, and your pelvis (space below your low back)
You'll prevent your upper spine from rounding too much or arching through your low back, which, over time with more and more weight, can cause unnecessary strain.
You'll save your low back and train your lats (mid back) better and build a stronger core.
