⚡ If Ya Ride Like Lightning, You’re Gonna Crash Like Thunder ~ inspired by line in A Place Beyond the Pines 2013
There are seasons when we move through life like lightning. Fast. Charged. Reacting before feeling. Saying yes before checking in with ourselves. Chasing, fixing, rescuing, controlling, overthinking, overgiving, and calling all that motion living.
And for a while, damn, it can feel powerful.
Yet energy always asks to be balanced.
When we continually override the whispers of the body, the heart, and the spirit, eventually they stop whispering. Thunder comes.
Sometimes the crash is exhaustion. Sometimes it’s anger, anxiety, grief, illness, a relationship unraveling, or simply waking up one morning realizing we don’t recognize the life we’ve been racing through.
Nature doesn’t apologize for having rhythms. The moon waxes and wanes. The garden grows and then rests. Even lightning flashes for only a moment before the sky releases what it has been holding.
Maybe we weren’t meant to live at full charge all the time either.
I’m learning that slowing down isn’t weakness. Rest isn’t laziness. And sitting with an uncomfortable feeling instead of immediately trying to fix it might be some of the deepest spiritual work we ever do.
Because sometimes the medicine isn’t another answer.
Sometimes it’s bare feet on the Earth, a deep breath, a quiet room, and enough stillness to finally hear ourselves again. 🌿⚡
Affirmation:
I honor the rhythm of my own energy. I do not have to race through my life to prove that I am living it.
