This group is frequently recommended by hospitals and hospices that aren't aware of their religious framework because it is cleverly camouflaged on their website.
“Today I came across the following conversation in one of their discussion strings for group leaders (who are peer supporters with no training in bereavement or counseling). Someone asked this question:
"𝘓𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘧𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘺 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 3 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘰𝘭𝘥 𝘢𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘺. 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘥𝘪𝘥𝘯'𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮."
There was nothing in this statement to indicate that this family is Christian. Yet one of the group leaders posted this answer:
.
"𝘖𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘭𝘰𝘵𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 & 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘦, 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘭𝘰𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘤𝘩𝘶𝘳𝘤𝘩 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘤𝘦𝘴? 𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘶𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘊𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘯 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮."
I couldn't resist posting this reply::
"𝘞𝘩𝘺 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘊𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘯 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘊𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘴?"
And she answered:
"𝘐𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯’𝘵 𝘊𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘐 𝘱𝘳𝘢𝘺 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘑𝘦𝘴𝘶𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮. 𝘊𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘯 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 (𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥𝘭𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘤𝘶𝘳𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦) 𝘪𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘴𝘵."
I share this information with you because I hope you will be aware of this group and its dangers.
I realize that some of you know people who've found support and comfort in GriefShare groups, but I will argue that just as many people have felt manipulated and uncomfortable there. It's a matter of CONSENT to receive religious content.
Please read my recent Substack post about them here:”
