“Off” Season Week 104 ✅
Average AM bodyweight: 194.5 lbs (up from 194 lbs 4 weeks ago). For reference: lowest prep weigh-in in 2024 was 165.1 lbs, peak ~168 lbs.
Deload completed this past weekend. My last one was in August, so taking advantage of this past weekend’s trip to Atlantic City for MR AMERICA made sense. I’ve been getting out to more shows lately, including OCB Natural Bodybuilding Pittsburgh 2 weekends ago (only 15 minutes from home) and Mr. America as noted, where I cherish my time in Atlantic City every year.
Overall, I’m continuing to carry momentum and am in a pretty good groove. My front lat spread in particularly is looking better, which is particularly encouraging since it’s a pose that typically improves more when leaner, & has been one of my weaker poses. I’m continuing to fill in gaps, particularly quad sweep, adductors, and lats. Something I’ve been experimenting with lately is varying hip rotation on my hamstring work (both hinges & curls). For movements where I already had 3 working sets, I’ve been doing one set neutral, one with toes turned in, & one with toes turned out. I notice differences in where I feel tension when I vary this & with 3 working sets I think distributing the stimulus more broadly across the hamstring might make sense.
Looking ahead, I’m planning to travel to Calgary for WNBF OFFICIAL Worlds next month and might make the trip to Alexandria, VA for Ben Weider Naturals Pro/Am beforehand as well (tentative).
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:6-7
