Getting New Hearing Aids? Give Your Brain Time to Adjust! 🧠

If you’re new to hearing aids, you may notice that some sounds seem different at first. Your own voice might sound louder, background noises may stand out more, or sounds you haven’t heard clearly in a while may suddenly become noticeable.

This is often a normal part of adjusting to hearing aids. Your brain is getting used to having access to sounds it may not have been receiving clearly for quite some time.

With regular use, your brain can gradually become more comfortable with these sounds and learn what is important to pay attention to.

But here’s the important part: You don’t have to figure it out on your own!

If something sounds too loud, uncomfortable, annoying, or just doesn’t sound right, let us know!

We can make adjustments to your hearing aids to help make the transition more comfortable. Sometimes a small programming change can make a big difference.

Everyone adjusts differently, so be patient with yourself—and communicate with us along the way.
