Job Development Starts With the Person!

What if finding the right job started with four simple questions?

These questions are part of the conversations we use in job development to learn more about each person, their interests, strengths, and goals.

Because successful employment isn't just about finding a job. It's about finding opportunities that make sense for the individual and give them a chance to use their strengths and be part of their community.

At Starkey, we're helping people discover what they bring to the workplace, then find employers who can see that potential, too.

Every person has something to offer. Sometimes, you just have to ask the right questions.

Starkey was out in the community this week, building connections and sharing our mission at three different events!

Amanda Westerman, Director of Communications, attended the Wichita Independent Business Association luncheon, where she connected with local business owners, shared more about Starkey’s mission, and exchanged ideas with fellow community leaders.

Miranda Lomurno, Marketing and Sales Representative, traveled to Topeka for the Kansas Agency Business Summit, where she spoke with companies about the many ways businesses can partner with Starkey through our Work Activity Area.

Janet Studnicka, Director of Development, and Eileen Ream, Development Coordinator, also represented Starkey at the Cargill Foundation 75th Celebration Picnic. Starkey hosted a booth where they connected with Cargill employees, shared information about our organization, and discussed ways employees can get involved. We are grateful to Cargill for being an ongoing partner of Starkey!

We’re grateful for every opportunity to strengthen partnerships, make new connections, and share the work Starkey is doing in our community!

We were proud to be part of the Prairie Fire Marathon this weekend!

The Starkey team had a great time working a hydration station, cheering on runners and supporting such an incredible community event.
