🇷🇺 **UNITED RUSSIA RETAINS A DOMINANT POSITION IN RUSSIA’S PARLIAMENT**

Russia’s ruling United Russia party has secured a large majority in the State Duma, according to preliminary election results.

The party won **355 of the 450 seats**, giving it nearly **79% of the lower house**.

The Kremlin has described the outcome as evidence of continued political support for President Vladimir Putin and his government.

At the same time, the election drew criticism from international observers and governments over the political environment, restrictions affecting opposition groups, and voting conducted in areas of Ukraine occupied by Russia.

With the reported results, United Russia is set to remain the dominant force in Russia’s State Duma.

🔴🇮🇳 **INDIA TIGHTENS IMPORT RULES FOR BANGLADESH — BUT THERE IS NO COMPLETE TRADE BAN**

India has introduced restrictions on certain imports from Bangladesh and has limited the entry of some products through specific land ports.

However, viral claims suggesting that **India has completely stopped trade with Bangladesh are misleading.** The measures apply to selected products and routes, while several categories of trade continue.

Under the restrictions, some Bangladeshi goods — including ready-made garments and certain jute-related products — have been restricted from entering through particular land ports, with designated seaports remaining available for specified items.

The move could affect exporters by changing transport routes, increasing logistics costs and putting additional pressure on certain sectors. At the same time, bilateral trade has **not been completely shut down**. Trade through key border routes has continued, with temporary disruptions also occurring for other reasons.

📌 **The key distinction:**

❌ Complete India–Bangladesh trade shutdown — **No**
✅ Restrictions on selected products and routes — **Yes**

The measures add another layer to the evolving economic relationship between the two neighbouring countries and could have implications for businesses on both sides.

🇮🇳🤝🇧🇩 **Targeted trade restrictions or growing economic pressure — how do you see the latest development?**

🇮🇳🫡 THEY BOUGHT THE SECONDS THAT SAVED LIVES

Tukaram Omble held on to Ajmal Kasab’s r***e despite being repeatedly shot, giving fellow officers the crucial seconds they needed to overpower and capture Kasab alive. Omble sacrificed his life while helping ensure that one of the attackers was captured alive.

Years later, Captain Smit Machchhar faced a different kind of emergency. After reportedly being stabbed in the cockpit, the aircraft plunged more than 14,000 feet. Despite his injuries, he fought back and helped prevent the situation from becoming a larger catastrophe. The aircraft was eventually brought under control, and all 174 passengers survived.

Different decades. Different circumstances. Same extraordinary courage.

One gave his life protecting fellow officers. The other fought through a life-threatening situation to help protect everyone aboard.

🇮🇳 Salute to Tukaram Omble and Captain Smit Machchhar.
