We’re joining Philly’s only completely car-free social bike ride for all ages and experience levels! We’re looking forward to iconic sights, live music, food, and fun together.

🎀 SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17 — ONE PHILLY PASS THE BATON BREAST CANCER WALK & CELEBRATION
After the Philly Bike Ride, we’ll ride over together to help lead the walk on our bikes! We’re honored to support survivors, remember loved ones, and stand alongside families and caregivers.

Gather at 11 a.m. | Step off at 11:30 a.m.

Fannie Lou Hamer didn't learn that Black people could register and vote until 1962. She was in her 40s. After that, she spent the rest of her life making sure other people knew.

Knowing what's yours is where power starts. This October, check your registration and your state's deadlines at Vote.org, make your voting plan, and walk to the polls together on November 3.

Dedicate a walk to Fannie Lou Hamer. Log it in The Underground, tag a sister, and bring her with you.

💚🚴🏾‍♀️ CYCLE SISTAHS ANNIVERSARY WEEKEND! 🍂

What a way to celebrate SIX YEARS of riding, connecting and growing together! 🎉

Our Cycle Sistahs Anniversary Weekend took us to the beautiful Poconos and Jim Thorpe for a weekend filled with cycling, laughter, adventure, good food and, most importantly, SISTERHOOD. 💚

We hit the trail surrounded by gorgeous fall scenery, stopped to take in the views (and plenty of pictures! 😂📸), explored the Lehigh Gorge and simply enjoyed being together.

This weekend was about so much more than the miles.

It was about celebrating the friendships cycling has created, the memories we’ve made and how far Cycle Sistahs has come since 2020.

What started with four women getting together to ride has grown into a community committed to empowering women and girls through cycling, community and wellness.

And we’re just getting started. 💚

💚🚴🏾‍♀️ THROWBACK THURSDAY: IT STARTED WITH FOUR 🚴🏾‍♀️💚

Happy Anniversary Month, Cycle Sistahs! 🎉

In 2020, during a year when the world looked very different, four women got on their bikes and started riding together.

It started when Tina and Dawn connected through another cycling group on Facebook and met for their first ride on Tina’s birthday — September 11, 2020. 🚴🏾‍♀️

Not long after, Karen and Ella joined them.

Four women.
Four bikes.
A few rides.
A whole lot of laughter. 😂

And eventually, one simple thought:

“We need a name.”

And Cycle Sistahs was born. 💚

At the time, we had no idea what those early rides would become. We were simply women riding bikes, enjoying the outdoors, encouraging one another and building friendships during an unforgettable year.

We just kept riding.

Through masks.
Through rain.
Through cold weather.
Through new trails and new adventures.

And somewhere along the way, those rides became something bigger. ❤️

Six years later, Cycle Sistahs is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to empowering women and girls through cycling, community and wellness.

And this weekend, we’re heading to the Poconos for our Anniversary Weekend — celebrating the sisterhood, the journey and everything that started with FOUR. 🚴🏾‍♀️🚴🏾‍♀️🚴🏾‍♀️🚴🏾‍♀️

All month long, we’ll be sharing memories from the early days of Cycle Sistahs and celebrating how far we’ve come.

Here’s to the original four.
Here’s to every Sistah who joined us along the way.
And here’s to where we’re riding next. 💚

💚🚴🏾‍♀️ CYCLE SISTAHS SPOTLIGHT: ELIZABETH “LIZ” BOYER 🚴🏾‍♀️💚

Today, we’re shining the spotlight on Elizabeth “Liz” Boyer! ✨

A mother, grandmother, runner, cyclist, Ride Leader, Chaplain — and our newest Cycle Sistahs Board Member! 💚

Liz has been an athlete for most of her life. She began running at just 12 years old, competed in track and played field hockey throughout middle and high school. Running remains her first love. 🏃🏾‍♀️

In 2013, Liz joined Black Girls RUN! and remains an active member of Black Girls RUN! Delaware, where she has found fellowship, friendship and sisterhood through the miles.

Then came another love: CYCLING. 🚴🏾‍♀️💚

Liz joined Cycle Sistahs around 2020 and rediscovered her love of being on two wheels. Along the way, she found another sisterhood and developed bonds that extend far beyond the bike.

Today, Liz proudly serves as a Cycle Sistahs Ride Leader, helping lead our Sistahs on safe, welcoming and FUN rides. She also serves as our Chaplain, bringing prayer, encouragement and faith to our cycling community. 🙏🏾💚

And her leadership continues to grow! We are excited to welcome Liz as the newest member of the Cycle Sistahs Board of Directors! 🎉

For Liz, wellness is about the whole person — mentally, physically and spiritually. She loves the outdoors, staying active and encouraging others along the way.

And as these photos show, sometimes her love of cycling takes her all the way to JAMAICA! 🇯🇲🚴🏾‍♀️☀️

There’s even MORE to celebrate! 🙏🏾💜

This Saturday, September 26, at 2 p.m., Liz will celebrate a special new beginning at Mt. Salem UAME Church in Delaware City. As our Chaplain, Liz has brought faith, prayer and encouragement to our sisterhood, and we are excited to celebrate this special occasion with her.
