October is Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Month! Sudden cardiac arrest can happen without warning, and knowing how to respond could mean the difference between life and death.
Three life-saving actions to remember:
1. Call 911: Get emergency assistance immediately. Quick action is critical during a sudden cardiac arrest.
2. Start CPR: Begin chest compressions, pushing hard and fast at a rate of 100–120 compressions per minute to help keep blood circulating.
3. Use an AED: An Automated External Defibrillator (AED) can analyze the heart's rhythm and deliver a potentially life-saving shock when needed.
During Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Month, take the time to learn CPR and locate AEDs in your workplace and community. Being prepared could help you save a life!
