A new name. The same heart for birth. 💜

I’m so excited to introduce Steadfast Beginnings Birth & Doula Services, formerly Caroline Hurst Doula Services!

Birth work has been part of my heart for many years. From attending births, studying midwifery to becoming a mother myself, I’ve learned that pregnancy, birth, & motherhood rarely unfold exactly as we imagine.

The one thing has remained constant: my belief that every mother deserves to feel heard, respected, informed, & supported.

The name Steadfast Beginnings reflects exactly what I hope to offer families. Steadfast means unwavering, dependable, and firmly rooted. Birth can be unpredictable, but compassionate support shouldn’t be.

Through personalized childbirth education + doula services, my heart is to help families approach birth with confidence, knowledge, and encouragement.

While my faith is an important part of who I am, my services are welcoming to all families, regardless of their beliefs, backgrounds, or birth preferences.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout my years in birth work. I’m looking forward to this next chapter and the families I’ll have the privilege of walking alongside.

Fifteen minutes after this photo was taken, she birthed her frank breech baby. At home, in her own space, exactly as she hoped.

It was calm. Straightforward. Beautiful.

For many families, a breech baby means being offered only one option: a cesarean, which is major abdominal surgery. With careful screening and an experienced team, vaginal breech birth can be a safe choice, and home can be the place it happens.

This birth was held by two senior midwives, a student midwife, and a doula.

Breech is a skill that has to be practiced and protected. I stay committed to it through regular breech training, so I can keep offering this option safely to families in Las Vegas.

Congratulations, mama. You are powerful. 🩵

Language matters. And sometimes, in their effort to make cesarean birth feel softer, people accidentally send the message that the word cesarean is something we need to soften in the first place.

Aa birth workers, friends, family, etc… You don’t have to call it a “belly birth” to make it a birth.
You don’t have to call it a “sunroof birth” in an attempt to be humorous
And for the LOVE, a woman isn’t a body that was “sectioned,” or a vessel a baby was “extracted” from.

They gave birth. By cesarean.

There’s nuance here, of course. If you had a cesarean and “belly birth” feels empowering to you? Use it. If “sunroof baby” makes you laugh and brings joy to your story? That language belongs to you. We will never tell someone how they should talk about their own experience. ( I (Lily) actually say sunroof exit sometimes when describing my experience lightheartedly.)

But as birth workers, providers, educators, friends, and family members, we don't need to assign cute nicknames to someone else's birth in an attempt to validate it. Let her name her birth.

Because cesarean and C-section are not dirty words.
Cesarean birth isn't less of a birth.
And we don't have to make it sound more like something else for it to count.

A New Chapter for Caroline Hurst Doula Services ✨

Over the past few months, I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on how I can best serve families in this season of life. I’m so excited to share that I’m officially relaunching my website & refreshing my brand!

As part of this new chapter, my primary focus will be childbirth education.

I now offer:

💻 Live online childbirth education for families anywhere
📚 Evidence-based education tailored to your goals, birth preferences, and learning style

While I am stepping back from offering routine in-hospital birth support, I have the privilege of knowing some incredible doulas in our community and will gladly refer you to someone I trust if you’re looking for labor support.

My heart has always been to help parents walk into birth feeling informed, prepared, & confident. Whether you’re planning an unmedicated birth, an epidural, an induction, a scheduled cesarean, or you’re still figuring out your preferences, my goal is to equip you with the knowledge you need to make informed decisions for your family.

I’m so excited to share everything I’ve been working on over the coming weeks. Thank you to everyone who has supported me through every season of this journey. I can’t wait to serve this community in a new way.
