Why we are so passionate about Sickle Cell Disease because we have lived in the life of family members of a Sickle Cell warrior.

Our mission is to raise awareness, provide support and advocate and educate children and adults living and as well as families with Sickle Cell Disease by facilitating their linkage to healthcare services. We have had several of our family members die from this disease. Sickle Cell is the most common inherited blood disorder in the United States. On a national average 1 in 500 African Americans or 72, 000 Americans are affected with this disease. Sickle Cell Disease is characterized by episodes of pain, chronic hemolytic anemia and severe infection. Sickle Cell Disease usually begins in early childhood stage. Sickle Cell Disease places a heavy financial and emotional burden of the patients and their families
