This week is National Estate Planning Awareness Week.

Creating or updating a will is one of those important tasks that's easy to put off. If it's been a while since you've reviewed yours, now is a great time to take a look.

We were blessed to spend time with the team from National Christian Foundation Michigan this week!

They joined us for a fun afternoon of bingo, took time to get to know our residents and staff, and encouraged us with thoughtful notes, prayers, and a delicious lunch. More than anything, we appreciated the opportunity to build relationships and share time together.

Thank you, National Christian Foundation, for serving with such kindness and for reminding us that community is one of God's greatest gifts.

There’s nothing quite like good food and good company!

We had a great evening under the tent for our annual Chili Cook-Off, with each house bringing their favorite chili recipe to share. Residents enjoyed sampling the different entries, casting their votes, and cheering on their favorites throughout the night.

Congratulations to the women of Willow Tree Lodge for taking home the Golden Ladle and first-place bragging rights for the year! The men of Ivanrest earned the Silver Ladle and a well-deserved second-place finish. Both awards will be proudly displayed in their homes until next year's competition.

It was a fun night of good food, friendly competition, and time spent together as a community.

This month, our LEAP Coordinators launched Plant Care Crew, giving residents the opportunity to learn about indoor plants, discover how to care for them, and grow plants of their own.

During a recent outing, the group explored a wide variety of plants and was amazed by God's creativity on display in the many different textures, shapes, and colors they discovered. They returned with new plants, fresh knowledge, and excitement for what comes next.

We're looking forward to seeing these plants thrive and the confidence and joy that grow along with them.

We had a wonderful afternoon with students from Grace Christian University this week! The afternoon included some intense games of UNO, friendly co****le competitions, and some very impressive (and sometimes nerve-wracking!)

More than anything, we're grateful they took the time to get to know our residents and be part of our community. It means so much when people are willing to show up, spend time together, and build genuine connections.

Our pumpkin decorating craft hour was full of creativity, color, and a little glitter! It was fun to see everyone's unique ideas come to life and celebrate each finished creation.

We're especially grateful for the volunteers who join us each week. By creating alongside our residents and embracing a little mess along the way, they help make craft hour a fun and meaningful time of connection. And most of all, it's always a joy to see their friendly faces week after week!

A big thank you to the students from South Christian High School for spending morning with us during their Serve Day!

They helped prepare bags for B**r City Dog Biscuits and brought a positive attitude and servant heart to everything they did. We also enjoyed the opportunity to share conversations, build new connections, and get to know these amazing students.
