A CUT ABOVE Just as in nature, the static condition of the human body adapts to change by physiological response.

My approach to physical fitness adapts the body in specific, measured ways to achieve a state of balance that can accommodate progression physically.

Shots from my match at Hanoi Open Grappling Festival 2026!

Made a new friend and brother in the ring that day!

To the team Raijin Hanoi , my home team Black Hole Jiu Jitsu , and my OG team Peter Lawson let's go again soon! Looking forward to competing in Gi, noGi and sub only format around the world!

Hard fought battle against a TOUGH opponent!

One 5minute round submission only Blue Belt no Gi rules followed by two sudden death rounds of back control. This competitor I faced today deserves so much credit for leaving work early today to come roll with me! Also not tapping from two well sunk in rear naked chokes and getting a technical W over me for escaping back control faster by two seconds than me in the sudden death rounds.

I look forward to more BJJ competition and tournament sign ups in the future as at age 43 this is just the beginning!

It's been a long time coming.

After 13 years of not officially training BJJ I am happy to announce I've been promoted to blue belt.

I want to thank Black Hole Jiu Jitsu Mike "The Wizard" Wacker and Joe Glickman for welcoming me onto the mats here in my hometown when we were home for last summer and putting a fire back under my ass to train regularly again.

Also big thanks to my Hanoi BJJ family Raijin Hanoi and Tap or Nap Hanoi for getting me involved in the local Hanoi, Vietnam Jui Jitsu community and providing me with solid fundamentals and techniques that I've been able to utilize to move to the next level.

A HUGE thanks to Peter Lawson for your training knowledge and providing me with the initial training environment and community Peter Lawson that always made me want to get back to training.

Big things coming with a competition starting next week and it's just a new beginning there will be much more to come!

This will ALSO most certainly resolve neck tension, discomfort, and Range of motion ROM/mobility dis function.

"The thrill of victory, the agony of small defeats"

My first men's Hyrox pro outing:
-On pace first three sections
-hit a top 7 age group and 30th percentile of my heat's sled push time which proved to be fast enough to gas me
-CNS fatigue and brain fog caused me to forget 2 out of 4 lengths on sled pull (rookie mistakes)
-recovered by the rower station to finish the race strong!
I'LL BE BACK

HYROX please get someone to switch out and sanitize and wipe down/dry wall balls between uses as part of the course team. I train Muay Thai in Thailand and BJJ and have to say those balls were the most sweat drenched disgusting things I have encountered in my lifetime!!! 🤢👎

Bar push/pull and twist. This bar can be a great dynamic training tool if you know how to use it.

Hit your obliques and spinal rotators, shoulder blade retractors and protractors, plus chest and arms all in one exercise.

Can also be done with a bar or dowel attached to a band.
