Is your autistic child or young person a gamer?

Online spaces can be a brilliant fit for many autistic young people, no crowded rooms, no eye contact demands, just space to connect, create, and be themselves. But we know families want to feel confident their young people are safe too.
Join us for our free family workshop where we'll be joined by a very special guest, Lee Allen, Senior Analyst at South Wales Police, with specialist expertise in online safety and exploitation.
We'll talk about:
- Why online gaming can genuinely support autistic young people
- How to keep communication open and trusting
- Safety settings and staying involved
- Simple, clear family safety guidelines

Sometimes the most important part of a family holiday is simply knowing your child will feel comfortable and able to enjoy themselves.

That’s why our accessible Derwent Holiday Home at Cayton Bay Holiday Park has been created with families of children and young people with SEND in mind.

From wheelchair-accessible features to sensory equipment that supports play, comfort and downtime, every detail has been chosen to help make family breaks more inclusive and enjoyable.

We hope it’s a place where children can play, siblings can have fun together, parents and carers can take a break, and families can enjoy everything the Yorkshire coast has to offer 💙

In our latest Autism Central blog, our peer guide Jade shares what her non-speaking autistic child has taught her about communication, inclusion and listening in new ways.

Some of the things that work for her are:

🗒️ A multimodal communication approach: valuing all methods of communication equally, such as pointing, facial expressions, visuals, written text or assistive tech.

🧠 Approaching non-speaking autistic people with the expectation that they have thoughts, preferences, ideas and competence, even when they communicate differently.

♥️ Remembering connection can happen in many ways, not just through speech.

Autism Central is delivered by Anna Freud and funded by NHS England Workforce, Training and Education
