Today we're at the Public Health Wales conference where the theme is "Putting people at the heart of prevention". Nerys Evans, MS, opened the conference after the incredible Choirs For Good with a quote from Aneurin Bevan's book "A free health service", "......the victories won by preventive medicine are much the most important for mankind." She stated that "We must work together united with a shared purpose to make a lasting difference to people's lives." We need to continue collaborating whilst considering PrEP and vaccine equity and access, as well as ensuring that everyone in Wales has information around prevention, testing and treatment whilst embedding challenging stigma in all we do.
We're looking forward to a day of networking whilst ensuring that the needs of the communities we serve are centred in conversations.

Heddiw, rydym yng nghynhadledd Iechyd Cyhoeddus Cymru, lle mai’r thema yw “Rhoi pobl wrth galon atal”.

Agorodd Nerys Evans AS y gynhadledd, yn dilyn perfformiad anhygoel gan Choirs For Good, drwy ddyfynnu o lyfr Aneurin Bevan, A Free Health Service: “......the victories won by preventive medicine are much the most important for mankind” (“...y buddugoliaethau a enillir gan feddygaeth ataliol yw’r rhai pwysicaf o bell ffordd i’r ddynoliaeth”).

Dywedodd: “Rhaid inni gydweithio, yn unedig ac ag un diben cyffredin, er mwyn gwneud gwahaniaeth parhaol i fywydau pobl.”

Mae angen inni barhau i gydweithio, gan ystyried tegwch a mynediad at PrEP a brechlynnau, yn ogystal â sicrhau bod gan bawb yng Nghymru wybodaeth am atal, profi a thriniaeth. Mae hefyd yn hanfodol ein bod yn herio stigma ac yn sicrhau bod hyn yn rhan annatod o bopeth a wnawn.

Edrychwn ymlaen at ddiwrnod o rwydweithio, gan sicrhau bod anghenion y cymunedau rydym yn eu gwasanaethu wrth wraidd ein trafodaethau.

Fast Track Cymru was delighted to attend Age Cymru’s “Older People’s Conference 2026 – Diverse Communities, Inclusive Ageing”, held on Wednesday 7th October, exploring how we can make ageing and later life more inclusive for diverse communities in Wales.
The conference brought together organisations, professionals and people with lived experience from across Wales to discuss the experiences and needs of diverse communities, including people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQIA+ people, disabled people and neurodivergent people.
We were very pleased to contribute to discussions about the challenges faced by diverse and underserved communities as they age, and the importance of creating inclusive spaces, policies and systems, including equitable access to sexual health information, prevention, testing, treatment and care, and the experiences and concerns of older people living with HIV.
We also discussed the importance of creating age-friendly communities where everyone can feel included, supported and valued throughout later life, while creating opportunities for older people to share their experiences, connect with others and actively contribute to and participate in shared futures across generations.
The event featured contributions from Rhian Bowen-Davies, Older People’s Commissioner for Wales; Darren Chadwick and Richard Vytniorgu from The IncludeAge Project; and Menaka Kodur from Women Connect First, alongside a video message from Delyth Jewell MS, Deputy Minister for Social Care, Mental Health and Women’s Health.
Thank you to Age Cymru, Active Wales, Cymru Older People’s Alliance and National Pensioners Convention Wales for bringing everyone together for such an important day of discussion, learning and collaboration.

Roedd Fast Track Cymru yn falch iawn o fynychu cynhadledd Age Cymru, **“Cynhadledd Pobl Hŷn 2026 – Cymunedau Amrywiol, Heneiddio’n Gynhwysol”**, a gynhaliwyd ddydd Mercher 7 Hydref, gan archwilio sut y gallwn wneud heneiddio a bywyd diweddarach yn fwy cynhwysol i gymunedau amrywiol yng Nghymru.

Daeth y gynhadledd ag ystod o sefydliadau, gweithwyr proffesiynol a phobl â phrofiad bywyd ynghyd o bob rhan o Gymru i drafod profiadau ac anghenion cymunedau amrywiol, gan gynnwys pobl o gefndiroedd Du, Asiaidd a lleiafrifoedd ethnig, pobl LGBTQIA+, pobl anabl a phobl niwroamrywiol.

Roeddem yn falch iawn o gyfrannu at drafodaethau am yr heriau sy’n wynebu cymunedau amrywiol a chymunedau nad ydynt yn cael eu gwasanaethu’n ddigonol wrth iddynt heneiddio, ac am bwysigrwydd creu mannau, polisïau a systemau cynhwysol. Mae hyn yn cynnwys sicrhau mynediad teg at wybodaeth am iechyd rhywiol, atal, profi, triniaeth a gofal, yn ogystal â rhoi sylw i brofiadau a phryderon pobl hŷn sy’n byw gyda HIV.

Buom hefyd yn trafod pwysigrwydd creu cymunedau sy’n gyfeillgar i bobl o bob oedran, lle gall pawb deimlo eu bod yn cael eu cynnwys, eu cefnogi a’u gwerthfawrogi drwy gydol eu bywydau diweddarach. Mae hyn yn golygu creu cyfleoedd i bobl hŷn rannu eu profiadau, meithrin cysylltiadau ag eraill, a chyfrannu’n weithredol at ddyfodol a rennir rhwng cenedlaethau, a chymryd rhan ynddo.

Ymhlith y cyfranwyr i’r digwyddiad roedd Rhian Bowen-Davies, Comisiynydd Pobl Hŷn Cymru; Darren Chadwick a Richard Vytniorgu o [Brosiect IncludeAge](https://includeage.co.uk/); a Menaka Kodur o [Women Connect First](https://womenconnectfirst.org.uk/). Cafwyd hefyd neges fideo gan Delyth Jewell AS, y Dirprwy Weinidog dros Ofal Cymdeithasol, Iechyd Meddwl ac Iechyd Menywod.

Diolch i Age Cymru, Active Wales, Cynghrair Pobl Hŷn Cymru a Chonfensiwn Cenedlaethol Pensiynwyr Cymru am ddod â phawb ynghyd ar gyfer diwrnod mor bwysig o drafod, dysgu a chydweithio.

This World Mental Health Day, remember nobody should have to navigate their health alone.
Living with HIV can bring challenges that go far beyond physical health. Mental wellbeing, stigma, isolation and feeling understood can all shape someone’s experience of care.
Peer support matters. Being listened to matters. And feeling able to ask for help matters.
Good care is about more than treatment. It’s about people.
Our aim today and everyday is to help build a Wales where everyone affected by HIV feels supported, connected and able to thrive.
If you want more information on peer support in Wales please see:
Peer Support — Fast Track Cymru https://www.fasttrack.wales/peer-support

Ar Ddiwrnod Iechyd Meddwl y Byd, cofiwch: ni ddylai neb orfod wynebu heriau iechyd ar ei ben ei hun.
Gall byw gyda HIV ddod â heriau sy’n ymestyn ymhell y tu hwnt i iechyd corfforol. Gall llesiant meddyliol, stigma, ynysu a’r teimlad o gael eich deall i gyd effeithio ar brofiad rhywun o ofal.
Mae cymorth gan gymheiriaid yn bwysig. Mae cael rhywun i wrando yn bwysig. Ac mae teimlo eich bod yn gallu gofyn am help yn bwysig.
Mae gofal da yn ymwneud â mwy na thriniaeth. Mae’n ymwneud â phobl.
Ein nod heddiw ac bob dydd yw helpu i adeiladu Cymru lle mae pawb sy’n cael eu heffeithio gan HIV yn teimlo eu bod yn cael eu cefnogi, eu bod yn gysylltiedig ag eraill ac yn gallu ffynnu.

01/10/2026

Today is International Day of Older Persons 2026 and the theme for this year is “The Age of Longevity: Rethinking Systems for Longer Lives”.

People living with HIV who have access to and take effective HIV treatment can live long, healthy lives whilst not passing the virus on. But our health systems, prevention messages and sexual health services must reflect the realities of ageing. Our services must be ready to support people to live well with HIV throughout their lives.

HIV, viral hepatitis, TB and other diseases of elimination don’t discriminate, including by age. Prevention, testing and treatment matter at every stage of life.

Sexual health doesn’t have an expiry date either, and at Fast Track Cymru we’re here to advocate for everyone to have messaging that is appropriate and accessible for them, and services that are fit for purpose; at every age, at every stage of life.

Heddiw yw Diwrnod Rhyngwladol Pobl Hŷn 2026, a thema eleni yw “Oes Hirach: Ailfeddwl Systemau ar gyfer Bywydau Hirach”.

Gall pobl sy’n byw gyda HIV ac sydd â mynediad at driniaeth effeithiol ar gyfer HIV, ac sy’n cymryd y driniaeth honno, fyw bywydau hir ac iach heb drosglwyddo’r firws i eraill. Ond rhaid i’n systemau iechyd, ein negeseuon atal a’n gwasanaethau iechyd rhywiol adlewyrchu realiti heneiddio. Rhaid i’n gwasanaethau fod yn barod i gefnogi pobl i fyw’n dda gyda HIV drwy gydol eu bywydau.
Nid yw HIV, hepatitis feirysol, TB a chlefydau eraill y gellir eu dileu yn gwahaniaethu, gan gynnwys ar sail oedran. Mae atal, profi a thriniaeth yn bwysig ar bob cam o fywyd.

Nid oes dyddiad dod i ben i iechyd rhywiol chwaith, ac yn Fast Track Cymru rydym yma i eirioli dros negeseuon sy’n briodol ac yn hygyrch i bawb, a gwasanaethau sy’n addas i’r diben; ar bob oedran, ac ar bob cam o fywyd.

**We’re looking for new Trustees!** Sgroliwch i lawr am Gymraeg

Fast Track Cymru is growing and we’re looking for passionate, committed people to join our Board of Trustees and help shape the future of our work across Wales.

Fast Track Cymru is a Wales-wide community-led charity with a focus on HIV, viral hepatitis, TB and related conditions, working to improve health, wellbeing and outcomes while bringing together communities, professionals, policymakers and organisations to work towards elimination and reduce stigma and inequality. We work in communities, with communities, for communities.

You don’t need to have been a Trustee before. We’re looking for people who can bring different skills, experiences, perspectives and connections to our Board.

We’d particularly love to hear from people with:

- Lived experience relevant to our work or the communities we support
- Welsh language skills or experience of working bilingually in Wales
- Experience engaging with politicians, elected representatives or government
- PR, communications, media or campaigning experience
- Experience working with young people, education or youth organisations

We’d also welcome people with experience in areas such as charity governance, law, healthcare and public health, finance, organisational development, HR, community engagement and more.

You don’t need to tick every box. We want to build a Board that reflects the diversity of Wales and brings together a complementary mix of skills, knowledge and lived experience.

This is a voluntary role, with most meetings held online with one Board meeting each month, alongside approximately two Board away days each year.

If you’re passionate about health equality, reducing stigma and improving outcomes for communities across Wales, we’d love to hear from you.

**Rydym yn chwilio am Ymddiriedolwyr newydd!**

Mae Fast Track Cymru yn tyfu ac rydym yn chwilio am bobl ymroddedig ac angerddol i ymuno â’n Bwrdd Ymddiriedolwyr a helpu i lunio dyfodol ein gwaith ledled Cymru.

Mae Fast Track Cymru yn elusen dan arweiniad cymunedol sy’n gweithio ledled Cymru, gyda ffocws ar HIV, hepatitis firaol, TB a chyflyrau cysylltiedig. Rydym yn gweithio i wella iechyd, lles a chanlyniadau, gan ddod â chymunedau, gweithwyr proffesiynol, llunwyr polisi a sefydliadau ynghyd i weithio tuag at ddileu’r clefydau hyn a lleihau stigma ac anghydraddoldeb.

Rydym yn gweithio mewn cymunedau, gyda chymunedau, dros gymunedau.

Nid oes angen i chi fod wedi bod yn Ymddiriedolwr o’r blaen. Rydym yn chwilio am bobl sy’n gallu dod â gwahanol sgiliau, profiadau, safbwyntiau a chysylltiadau i’n Bwrdd.

Byddem yn arbennig o falch o glywed gan bobl sydd â:

- Profiad bywyd sy’n berthnasol i’n gwaith neu i’r cymunedau rydym yn eu cefnogi
- Sgiliau yn y Gymraeg neu brofiad o weithio’n ddwyieithog yng Nghymru
- Profiad o ymgysylltu â gwleidyddion, cynrychiolwyr etholedig neu’r llywodraeth
- Profiad ym maes cysylltiadau cyhoeddus, cyfathrebu, y cyfryngau neu ymgyrchu
- Profiad o weithio gyda phobl ifanc, ym maes addysg neu gyda sefydliadau ieuenctid

Byddem hefyd yn croesawu pobl sydd â phrofiad mewn meysydd fel llywodraethu elusennol, y gyfraith, gofal iechyd ac iechyd y cyhoedd, cyllid, datblygu sefydliadol, adnoddau dynol, ymgysylltu â chymunedau a mwy.

Nid oes angen i chi fodloni pob un o’r meini prawf. Rydym am adeiladu Bwrdd sy’n adlewyrchu amrywiaeth Cymru ac sy’n dod â chymysgedd cyflenwol o sgiliau, gwybodaeth a phrofiad bywyd ynghyd.

Mae hon yn rôl wirfoddol, gyda’r rhan fwyaf o gyfarfodydd yn cael eu cynnal ar-lein, gan gynnwys un cyfarfod Bwrdd bob mis, ynghyd â thua dau ddiwrnod cwrdd i ffwrdd y Bwrdd bob blwyddyn.

Os ydych yn angerddol am gydraddoldeb iechyd, lleihau stigma a gwella canlyniadau i gymunedau ledled Cymru, byddem wrth ein bodd yn clywed gennych.

I fynegi eich diddordeb neu i gael rhagor o wybodaeth, anfonwch e-bost at [email protected]
