Can you adequately manage PCOS with a plant-based diet? Yes, but it can be a little complicated...
A couple things to consider:
1. Whenever an entire food group is eliminated, it increases the potential for nutritional deficiencies. It's best to meet with a registered dietitian if you have concerns about a balanced diet, supplements, etc.
2. You can benefit both the environment and your health by increasing your consumption of plant-based options without eliminating animal product entirely.
3. Especially when recovering from a history of disordered eating, vegan/ vegetarian diets can sometimes be used as a way to restrict and control food intake. For this reason, an individualized approach is always recommended.
