I'll be honest, I'm a bit of a sceptic when it comes to anything spiritual, rituals and that sort of thing. It's not something I've ever really explored, and I wasn't entirely sure what to expect when I first attended one of Kate's workshops.

My first experience was at Unearthed Festival in June 2025, and although I was curious, I was also a little nervous about stepping outside my comfort zone.

But within about five minutes, I felt completely at ease.

That's what really stands out to me about Kate. She has such a calm, warm and welcoming way of facilitating. She explains things in a way that's easy to understand, without making you feel like you should already know what you're doing.

Since then, I've had the opportunity to support Kate at several of her events, and I've seen just how much thought, creativity and care she puts into everything.

Genuinely have had such positive experiences.

And don't just take my word for it!

💬 Gareth's testimonial from a recent workshop..

"What a massive swing in energy. I feel like I have been able to let go of a lot of things that have happened throughout my life and forgiven myself and gave myself permission to let go and move forward.

Last night was the biggest shift. I found myself on a journey working backwards in my life starting from 2026 to the age of 3 and all events that changed my life was let go.

I am very happy today and looking forward to the life in front of me."

If you've been curious about attending one of Kate's workshops but aren't sure whether it's your sort of thing, I'd genuinely encourage you to give it a go.

Changing the world is a mammoth task… But what if part of that change begins with the stories we inherit, the beliefs we question, and the ways we choose to live?

Colonialism, capitalism and unequal systems of power have shaped the world we currently live in. Their legacies influence how we understand wealth, success, ownership and our relationship with the living world.

Ancestral work invites us to ask:- what have we inherited, and what are we continuing without even realising it?

This is an invitation to decolonise our minds. Rather than through shame or guilt, instead through awareness, curiousity and choice.

We may not be able to change everything, yet we can choose what we participate in, what we challenge, and what we carry forward with our own words, actions and thoughts.

And perhaps that’s where true change begins. 🌿

Fancy doing something different this Halloween?

Forget the scary films and fancy dress for a moment. What about spending a weekend exploring something a little closer to home... your own family history?

Have you ever wondered why you react to certain situations the way you do? Why you struggle to say no, always feel responsible for everyone else, or find yourself repeating things you swore you'd never do?

We pick up so much from our families without even realising it. And it's not all bad. There's the humour, the strength and the things we love about where we've come from too.

This Halloween weekend, Kate Freyja will be hosting The Ancestral Thread, a two-day ancestral healing retreat in the beautiful Preseli Hills.

We'll be exploring our family stories, the patterns we may have inherited, what we're ready to leave behind and the good things we want to carry forward.

Expect guided journeys, ceremony, time out on the ancient land, space for reflection and a traditional Samhain dinner together on Saturday evening.

You don't need to be spiritual, have any experience of ancestral work or know much about your family history. If you are simply curious or if there's something you've been wanting to explore for a while, you are more than welcome to join us.

Relationships ask us to grow, to be challenged, to have our ego unsettled, to learn when to soften, when to serve, and when to meet in the middle.

Our relationship with the land is no different.

And yet, we have been taught to take, take take!

We mine the earth for her riches. We strip the land of what she offers. We measure abundance by how much we can accumulate, own, consume and extract.

Capitalism and colonisation have severed so many of us from the old ways of relating to the living world, ways rooted in reciprocity, reverence and relationship.

The land is not a resource… she is not here merely to serve us.

So what could change if we approached her differently?

If we arrived with humility…. Wirh more reciprocity, Acknowledging the guardian spirits of the land and the unseen relationships that ask for our respect?

It is so important give, without expecting to receive in return, we give to give, otherwise we are taking!

Not to give as a transaction… Not to guarantee blessings. But because genuine relationship asks something of us.

A willingness to listen, to offer something of ourselves, to be changed by the encounter.

This is part of the work we will explore during The Ancestral Thread a remembering our place within the web of life, tending to the relationships that sustain us, and questioning the ways we have been taught to move through the world.

We’ll walk the ancient land of the Preseli Hills, make offerings, and enter into ceremony as we gather for Samhain.

Not simply to receive.

But to listen. To honour. To remember.

As we approach Samhain, we enter a time traditionally associated with honouring those who have passed, remembering those who came before us and reflecting on what we carry from our lineage.

This Halloween weekend, we'll be gathering in the Preseli Hills for two days of ancestral work, ceremony and connection with the land.

Here are seven ways we'll be exploring that connection.

1. Remembering those who came before us
Through ritual and ceremony we will create sacred space to honour our ancestors, their stories, their lives and the journeys that eventually led to our own.

2. Recognising the patterns we've inherited
Looking at the beliefs, behaviours and family roles that may have been passed down through generations. We will discern the patterns that we've inherited that do not serve us such as avoidance in love, defensiveness, scarcity with money and/or feeling afraid to be seen from our vulnerable heart space.

3. Making space for grief
Acknowledging losses, difficult family histories and the things that may never have been spoken about through an animistic ritual walk.

4. Connecting through the land
Spending time in the ancient Preseli landscape, remembering our relationship with nature and making offerings to the spirits of the land who love us.

5. Listening to the wisdom of our bodies
Noticing what our bodies may be telling us and using the power of creativity to channel insight to promote lasting change.

6. Honouring what we're ready to leave behind
Not everything we inherit needs to be carried forward. Through Kate Freyja's guidance, trance and ritual we will explore what we're ready to put down.

7. Remembering the good juicy stuff too
Our families pass down much more than difficult experiences. Think about the humour, the stubbornness, the creativity, the ability to get through hard times. What have you inherited that you're actually glad to have?
