Un tema que hacía tiempo me rondaba la cabeza y que, en un día como hoy, parece lo apropiado.

Y hablando de apropiación… 🪶

En un mundo donde parece que todo vale, que la información corre más rápido que la pólvora y que la cultura de la globalización está acabando con los matices que aportan las voces más pequeñas, siento el deber, como amante y guardiana del Cacao, de proteger lo que amo. 🤎

🙋🏽‍♀️No estoy libre de culpa y sé que en mis inicios con el Cacao no lo hice todo bien, pero siento que ahora no hay excusas. Si tenemos toda la información a un clic de distancia, ¿por qué hacemos oídos sordos y cerramos los ojos ante lo que nos toca de cerca? Nuestra propia autocrítica.

💰Somos todos cómplices de este embrollo poscolonial y capitalista en el que estamos, así que tomemos responsabilidad por la parte que nos toca e intentemos no repetir los mismos errores de nuestros ancestros.

🎼 WHAT 30 OF MUSIC TAUGHT ME 🎻
I’ve been thinking lately about how much my years as a musician still live in the work I do today. After decades of practising the violin, I learnt that discipline is not really about forcing yourself to do something. It is about creating the conditions for something to emerge.

~ You practise, repeat, listen and prepare until, eventually, you can let go of the technique and simply be present with what is happening ~

⭐️And the funny thing is, that the same is true in ceremony. So much of what happens before people arrive: preparing the cacao, the space, the music, the sequence, the details, etc is about creating a vessel strong enough to hold what wants to emerge. And then comes the moment when I have to stop controlling it and listen. This is perhaps one of the greatest things music taught me:

🎵prepare deeply, listen carefully, and then let go.

I think this is what I now bring from music into cacao. The discipline to prepare, the sensitivity to listen, and the trust to allow the ceremony to become something beyond what I could have planned.

A COLLABORATION BORN FROM CACAO

Some of the things we love most at Amrita are the collaborations that allow cacao to travel into new places.

This beautiful handmade soap is the result of a collaboration with our friends at La La Encantada ~ Cosmética Natural Ecológica a small, independent project creating natural cosmetics with care, intention and beautiful ingredients.

With this amazing soap we bring cacao into a completely different kind of ritual: the everyday ritual of bathing. 🚿

Made with cacao, sweet almond oil and coconut oil, this 100% natural and vegan soap creates a rich, creamy lather while nourishing and softening the skin.

And then there are the spices…

The warm, sensual aromas of cinnamon and clove awaken the senses and turn an ordinary shower into something a little more special.

We love this collaboration because it is not simply about creating another product. It is about bringing together two small projects, sharing our love for cacao, supporting each other’s work and discovering new ways to enjoy this beautiful plant.

☀️ When you give time to harvest the fruits of your work life feels more meaningful.

Last weekend we were part of this beautiful event “Terra” by .sounds at and it felt@like a coming home after a very busy Summer.

The weather, the location, the moon, the music, the love and all the friends from different parts of my life seem to gather together for this end of Summer moment.

Meeting and and getting to jam with them around the fire under the stars felt like a dream come true. What a beautiful day and night to close the season.
