I sometimes think we put too much emphasis on houses and lose sight of the natural significations of the planets for their topical ones.

But obviously, the houses do have something to say and I do like what the late astrologer Noel Tyl had to say about succedent houses.

He conceptualised these as axes of self-worth and fulfilment.

So for example, the 2H would include how you view yourself as a resource and self-esteem.

If the 5H is where we give love, then the 11H is where we receive love, which is also connected to how we build our long-term aspirations.

And since the 2H is square the 11H, if our self-worth is shaky, then this impacts how we receive love.

The 8H then becomes a point where we have the opportunity to transform & alchemise.

This is where we encounter emotional & physical intimacy to make love real.

But again, this is dependent on the 11H as it squares the 8H: we need to be able to receive love and feel worth for the 8H to operate at its highest capacity within the contexts/parameters of the natal chart.

In 1915, Rash Behari Bose, one of India’s most wanted revolutionaries, quietly slipped out of British-controlled India and into Japan, sadly never to return.

Hidden by a Japanese family behind the Nakamuraya Bakery, he fell in love with their daughter, built a family, and lost her far too soon.

In his grief, he gave his in-laws a gift that outlived him: authentic Indian curry, still served at Nakamuraya in Shinjuku today.

What does it mean to belong to a place you cannot return to? How does a person in exile stay faithful to one homeland while sheltered by another?

In this talk, we'll explore his story astrologically through the lunar nodes as the axis of origin and destiny, and through the four asteroid goddesses: Ceres (nourishment), Pallas (strategy), Juno (partnership), and Vesta (sacrificial devotion and cultural integrity).

Expect history, myth, and a little spice, as we see how sometimes displacement can become a doorway to sharing & belonging in ways unforeseen.

The Lot of Fortune can be said to describe how the material world meets the person.

Vettius Valens called it "the archetypal lot" and viewed the Lot of Fortune as the primary, foundational point in the chart because it relates to the physical body, material circumstances, and what happens TO the native.

I often use "Fortune houses" when I am using the Zodaical Releasing technique as looking at the angular houses FROM the Lot of Fortune can tell us a lot.

But just as we only have Valens writing about ZR, so too, there is another Hellenistic astrologer who appears to be the sole enumerator of a specific technique using the Lot of Fortune.

Have you ever heard of the Circle of Athla? This is something the Roman poet & astrologer, Marcus Manilius wrote about in the 1st century CE, and it's FASCINATING!

I am posting this much later than I would have liked, but such is the nature of life!

I was thrilled to have the chance to present my talk on The Third Day Moon & Nourishing the Natal Promise at the United Astrology Conference in Chicago earlier this month--thank you
United Astrology Conference for the opportunity!

And thank you to all who attended my talk amidst all the amazing talks that were happening simultaneously--I truly appreciate you all!

The 3D Moon (as I am now calling it)--according to Dorotheus and Valens (amongst others)--showed the zodiacal sign where the Moon alights on the third day after birth, and it was one of the primary diagnostic tools for understanding the native's upbringing, physical constitution, and fated livelihood.

Why the third day after birth? Because that's when the mother's milk "drops" and nourishment on this physical plane of existence begins.

I also presented the Hmong cultural understanding of 3 souls that include the 'reincarnation soul' that is called in through a special ceremony called the Hu Plig on the third day after birth.

I loved researching this topic and presenting my findings along with snippets from personal consultations that really brought the technique to life in amazing ways.

I am excited & delighted to be presenting at the United Astrology Conference (UAC) in Chicago next month!

The title of my talk is "The Third Day Moon & The Nourishing of the Natal Chart" and I've learned so much in researching this topic and running beta sessions using the standalone 3D Moon chart.

I'll be speaking on Saturday, September 5th, in the Minnesota Room on the 6F.

The lunar nodes are transiting the Leo-Aquarius axis until March 2028 with Rahu/North Node in Aquarius and Ketu/South Node in Leo. Although both signs have layers and are nuanced, it feels like if the two, Aquarius is the harder sign to grasp outside of the usual stereotype of the eccentric outsider. Join me with Natty as we dive into an Aquarian vibe check and the importance of always incorporating both sides of the lunar nodes.

Many people describe Aquarius as being connected to groups or "the collective", but a deeper dive into the sign does not bear this out. I share some thoughts on Aquarius and Leo and a few other bits in this new blog post:
