You finally get some time to yourself… and somehow end up doing absolutely everything else for everyone else!
Sound familiar?
You’ve been looking forward to a bit of time for yourself. Maybe a duvet day, a long shower, a chance to relax or just do absolutely nothing.
But then the sun comes out, there’s something needing done, someone needs a hand, or you remember another job you’ve been putting off.
And before you know it, that time you had for yourself has disappeared.
The frustrating bit? You’re absolutely knackered, but somehow doing nothing feels harder than doing another ten things!
And sometimes there’s that wee feeling of guilt creeping in.
Like you should be doing more. Like you’ve not quite earned the right to stop.
💜 But what if rest didn’t have to be earned?
This week’s Your Permission to Pause is all about GUILT.
And we’re trying something a little different.
Your wee activity this week:
Next time that guilty feeling shows up, take a moment to notice it.
💜 Where do you feel it in your body?
💜 What thoughts come with it?
💜 And here’s the big one… if someone you loved was feeling exactly the same way, what would you say to them?
Would you tell them to get up and do another ten jobs? Or would you encourage them to take that time for themselves?
Could you offer yourself that same understanding?
No need to write anything down or make the feeling disappear. Just notice it and get curious.
You’ll find the activity in today’s Stories and saved in my PAUSE Highlight if you want to come back to it.
Tomorrow we’re looking at the psychology behind why self-compassion can make a difference. 🧠
Because you deserve the same kindness you give everyone else.
