4 Things I wish I knew before moving abroad!
After 15 years of living in different countries, I’ve been through a lot: the excitement of new beginnings, tough adjustments, disappointments and everything in between.

If I could go back and give myself some advice before all the moves, here’s what I’d say:

☘️ You might never feel fully “local” — and that’s okay
You can adapt, embrace the culture, even think in another language… and still not fully blend in. That’s OK. You’re creating your own cultural blend.

☘️ Real friendships take time
When I moved to Canada for my studies, I immediately got ‘party friends’ – but not the kind of friends I can discuss deep personal topics with. These friendships came later. Because trust and lasting connections take time!

☘️ You’ll miss home — even if you were happy and ready to leave!
It’s possible to feel excited about moving and still miss familiar things. That’s not a contradiction or a sign that the new location isn’t the right fit — just the complexity of being human.

☘️ A new country won’t solve all inner struggles
That’s a big one for me, personally. Our habits, fears, and doubts tend to travel with us, so ‘new country – new me!’ doesn’t always work.

The good news? A new context CAN help us try different approaches and notice our patterns — and learn new ways to address them, if needed!

Relocating — whether across countries or cities — isn’t just about geography. It’s also an inner journey, and you don’t have to go through it alone.

Feel free to reach and book a session or a free consultation — at your own pace and without pressure.

Take care!💜

A friendly reminder 💛
The key to success – in almost anything, from career to better mental or physical health – is Consistency, not perfection.
And having a support system (including knowing how to support yourself and how to ask for help) really makes a difference!

A Gentle Reminder:
Even when it’s noisy in your mind, you're allowed to pause, breathe, sip some coffee, gaze out the window… and trust that you’re going to be okay 🌿

After 15 years of moving around, I’ve learned that adjusting abroad isn’t about doing everything at once.
It’s about small steps — unpacking, creating rituals, finding ‘your spot.’

In my latest article, I share 5 things that helped me (and my clients) feel more at home — even in completely new places. And if you have your own lifehack for feeling at home, please share! You never know who it might help 🌍

Adjusting to a new country isn’t always easy — here are 5 strategies that have helped both me and my clients:

“Once I move, life will fall into place.”
That’s the idea I used to hold onto.

Not very specific — just the feeling that things would somehow become clearer, lighter, and easier in a new place.

It’s not so different from other common beliefs:
“I’ll be ready for love when I’m in better shape / fully healed / have it all figured out.”
We delay important things — relationships, creativity, self-trust — until we become an imagined, "better" version of ourselves.

Moving abroad is often seen as a reset.
And in many ways, it is: new language, new city, new routines.
But it’s also true that we bring OURSELVES along:

Our patterns, fears, needs, and stories don’t get left at the border — they travel with us.

And that’s not a bad thing.
It’s human 🌿

The challenge is when our external reality changes but the inner weight remains, we may feel confused or disappointed:
“Wasn’t this supposed to fix things?”

But growth rarely happens all at once, even in new places!
It’s found in the daily effort — which doesn’t have to be grand — to:
➡️ Understand ourselves better
➡️ Respond differently
➡️ Stay present with what’s real (even when it’s uncomfortable)

So, while moving abroad won’t necessarily solve our inner struggles, it CAN offer a unique lens to notice them more clearly — and a chance to approach them with kindness and curiosity.
