Cara Beckinsale Acupuncture Five Element Acupuncture works by treating the cause of the disease to therefore restore your optimu

When you tailor a treatment to an individual by selecting points relevant to their imbalance the body responds by activating it's natural ability to heal. You are able to function at higher levels often with improved energy, better sleep or the ability to maintain a chronic condition with more ease. This brings the body to an improved state of health and general well being. Central London Fees: £95 for initial consultation which includes a Western and Chinese medical history and exam and a detox treatment ( can be up to 2 hours) and £65 per treatment from there on. A recommended course is five treatments but patients can assess as they go along. South East London at The Sunflower Centre: £75 and follow ups are £55

Here is a picture of me reading ‘ The Cure For All Diseases’ on International Women’s Day celebrating women and their curiosity and commitment to healing and solving people’s problems. I work with so many brilliant women who are powerful , wise and funny. Whilst I am yet to know ‘ The Cure for All Diseases (admittedly a big ask to be contained in this small volume ) when women work together the solutions are always closer.

Happy Lunar New Year.

If you are a regular in clinic in the last 12 weeks we have been discussing what people have been letting go ( shedding of the snake ) and what they want to create for the power of the Fire Horse( powerful forward motion ) It’s been a really fun reflective exercise and interesting to hear everyone’s observations.
Points I used to help ‘let go’ if needed LI4, LI6 Lu 1 and Lu9 for Large intestine and grief in the lungs.
Points I use for Forward Motion and staying stable within : Sp 15 , Liv 3, Du 12 and Ht 7 - centering, upright qi and calming the heart.
Chinese medicine is physiology, psychology and philosophy all rolled into one. It’s so cool.

Wimbledon Season! Chinese medicine in action here with cupping on Ben Shelton. He is a leftie and I spotted these cupping marks on his left shoulder the one that is dominant.
Purple colour in cupping means blood stagnation which causes muscle stiffness and pain. The cupping improves the blood flow to the area. He’s currently winning so it’s worked for him.
If you are a tennis person or a sportie person or a person with all sorts of other ailments- I am trained to do cupping and acupuncture.
I’m at Grey Door in Hove.

This is Dr Yvonne Burkart and she is a toxciology expert. I have been saying this to patients especially women for over a decade. Its incredible how much things improve with product change and acupuncture.
Chemicals and toxins are in most beauty/ self care products, normal candles, deodorants, shampoos, perfumes, cleaning products etc.

These chemicals are endocrine disrupters and can effect women's hormones especially- worsening infertility, endo, PCOS and perimenopause etc.

Please listen to this to give yourself some knowledge in the area and you can replace your products as they run out if it resonates with you. (A non toxic deodorant is probably the first and easiest one. I use Fussy but there are many excellent ones.)

It's also worth mentioning on these 'international womens week' posts- Steven Bartlett of DOAC is a great advocat for women and women's health. He has never been shy about having many female experts who talk about the once taboo subject of peri/menopause/fertility etc. Men of quality support equality.

International Women's Week- This woman is Lael Stone and the topic is 'Reparenting Yourself'. It was really eye opening to see how we let childhood events play into our adult responses. This is especially relevant to women.

I love this podcast in general ( three Australian men who are looking at all forms of imperfection and vulnerability- they have incredible guests including a fantastic female resident psychologist Dr Emily Musgrove).

Great insight into the 7 year old child who is still behaving like that at 40.

These are also helpful learnings for letting things go in Chinese medicine

I decided a day wasn't enough to celebrate women so I'm making it 'International Women's Week'. I'm focusing on women in health/lifestyle who have lots to share.
Dr Stacey Sims is an exercise physiologist and nutrition scientist amongst many other talents.

This podcast is about how important exercise and weight training is for women of all ages and how to maximise it's efficacy in time with your cycle.

It's got lots of tips and info that we all need to know and aren't sure where to find it.

Here is a great podcast on Diary of a CEO with Stacey.

Emotional complications, irritations, miscommunincations, misalignment are things that come up in Chinese medicine- everyday.
These held emotions have direct effects on your system. Learning to take less of those on/ to heart is vital to anyone's overall health picture. Do yourself a service and read this or listen to the podcast- it's really liberating.
