Companies needing medicals done for employees should take care to ensure the qualifications of the medical personnel doing their medicals. Fly by night suppliers of these services often lead to problematic audits down the line. If your supplier is inadequate it is possible that your medicals are not even legal.
Ask your supplier of services for the following:
1. Company registration
2. Diploma in Occ Health - OMP OR OHNP
3. In the case of a nurse - proof of competency in examination (clinical examination is not part of the OHNP course - midwifery and primary health qualifications include learning examinations)
5. Ensure that the OHNP who signs a certificate did the medical examination - if someone without the qualification did the examination the COF is illegal.
4. Calibration certificates for equipment - hearing equipment when moved about must be calibrated every 3 months
5. Training certificates for Spirometry, Vision Screening and Hearing assessment - required by law
