You might know your blood type, but do you know your mammogram letter?
Radiologists grade breast density from A to D. If you are a C or D, you have dense breast tissue.
Here is why that matters: on a standard mammogram, both dense tissue and tumors appear white. Trying to spot an issue in dense tissue is like finding a snowball in a blizzard.
According to functional medicine experts, if you are a C or D, a standard mammogram simply isn’t enough. You need to advocate for additional screening—like an ultrasound or a breast MRI—to get a clear picture.
Early detection saves lives. At your next appointment, don’t just wait for the “all clear.” Ask your doctor for your letter.
