HAPPY 25th BIRTHDAY...
After many negotiations and deliberations, the then Board of Governors, Rotary Club members and individuals signed an Agreement in 1997 with the City of Tshwane to erect the Hospice buildings on the donated pieces of land.
Thanks to all involved, the buildings were officially opened on 2 November 2001.
Despite many changes and difficulties that occured through the years and the In-Patient Unit(IPU) last opening was 16 October 2020 and subsequent unfortunate closure in September 2024.
The name changed in May 2024 with the approval of the Friends of Hospice at a Special General meeting to Centurion Palliative and Care centre (CPCC).
A new Board of Governors was elected in January 2025 and together with a new Manager, the big turnaround started and the big improvements are welcomed by our customers.
The current Board of Governors, elected on 14 October 2026 with their broader experiences can lead to a much greater overall improvement of the CPCC. They envisage the IPU to be re-opened in the near future with new strategic planning and possible funding from various sources.
The contributions, support and donations from businesses and individuals are much appreciated.
We are looking forward to a much improved Centre that will render a vital service to the community and be The Destination of Choice to those who are in need of our service.
Thank you to the previous and current Boards of Governors, the staff, Friends of Hospice members, volunteers, businesses, contributors and the community for your ongoing support.
May God Bless the IPU for many more years to come.
